Had to stay here for the EMO show being held in Hannover.

The hotel was booked as part of a deal I had with a machine company so I don't know how easy that was or was not.

The Hotel itself is in a fantastic location for traveling around. It's located about 3 minute walk from the main Hannover train station which you can also use for your eating as there are a large amount of restaurants there as well as more simple street food types.

As well, there is a supermarket directly behind the hotel. This one is hard to see but walk either side around and you will get to it.

The rooms are in a word, basic. The beds are a simple ~5" mattress placed on a wooden board and you get a quilt to cover yourself with. The shower looks like it's a moulded plastic container made for caravans. There is no phone or minifridge as well. For the 5 nights I was there I had no problem with the bed or sleeping.

There is however a flat screen tv and a decent air conditioning unit. The windows are double glazed so being next to the train station is not really a noise problem.

It should be pointed out that the Etap does not go around telling anyone it's a 4 star hotel, it is a budget place and the furnishing, while spartan are functional and I never really felt hard done by.

No really bad points (apart from some of the above) If I were to be picky I could point out that there were some area where the carpet had come unstuck and the staff smoke just outside the door near the reception. But that really didn't bother me too much.

The breakfast is also similar to the rooms. You get a choice of toast/bread & cereal with some milk & jam. The bread rolls I actually though were pretty good but the rest was rather plain. There are more choices at the train station if you like to splurge out.

All in all, I would go back here again without any problem. The benefits of easy access to the trains and supermarket as well as decent eating at the train station trump any issue you may have because they don't have the extras you may see in other 3-4 star hotels (which you end up paying for anyway)

Clean, simple, good value for money. Working for a charity I am keen not to spend on unecessary frills. Free wireless is a noticeable bonus compared to many hotels charging silly amounts per day. Breakfasts were also fine. Reception friendly and helpful (printed out boarding pass for me.)

etap standard. Ony one small soap for three nights and now shampoo. The window blinds were damaged because of poor quality. Free Internet access is included. Breakfast buffet is o.k. Having apples. Personell is friendly. If you want to spend only few bucks and just sleep then it is o.k.

This hotel is ok if you need somewhere for the night close to the main station in Hanover which is fairly cheap. The room has everything you need, but the bed isn't particularly comfortable, and the whole atmosphere of the room was - to me - unwelcoming. I may well stay here again, but only for the same reason I stayed here this time: because I arrived at Hanover Airport late at night and the next train out of Hanover wasn't until the following morning.
