My wife and I were in Hannover on business. We looked for a small, comfortable hotel within walking distance to work. The hotel quickly responded to our email request: when we told them that we would be arriving after the front desk closed, they offered to wait for us. When we arrived and asked for directions to our colleague's home - it was off the map - the very kind person behind the desk printed directions. Considering the very reasonable price of our comfortable room - lots of wood, lots of character - I was astonished to see the generous and tasty breakfast. The location is perfect for any working in downtown Hannover, close to the Lister shopping aria, a couple of tram stops away from the main rail station. I'll definitely stay here again: it felt very much like staying at home.

A great small hotel with fabulous rooms. Hotel Avalon is situated in a side road within a Hannover suberb a 10 min walk to the City Centre, or 1 min walk to the nearest tram stop - followed by 3 min tram ride. The hotel itself looks nothing from outside - but once inside it is well decorated with well presented themed rooms. We stayed in the Paris room, with a great double bed and stripped wooden floor and massive plasma TV. Our 1 night stay was a romantic fake birthday celebration and Hotel Avalon created just the right atmosphere. Great friendly/helpful staff, underground parking avaliable, fantastic breakfast, great value for money.
