We stayed at the Avalon after deciding to head to a large trade show in Hanover at the last minute. Overall, the bed and breakfast met our needs, but it wasn't an amazing stay. I've done my best to outline the good and bad points below.
Pros:
-Great breakfast - we paid a bit extra (4.80 Euros per person per day) to include a very good breakfast. I would recommend it.
-Location was walkable to downtown and just steps from a U-bahn station. Also, there was a nice shopping street near by
-The rates were reasonable
-The staff was friendly and kind
-The "temperpedic" style bed was incredibly comfortable
Cons:
-We had no internet
-We reserved the "apartment". It is actually across the street in another building and it was not labelled
-The bath was a bit dodgy. There is a shower, but if you use it as a shower you spray water all over the floor. It had a hand shower which I used sitting.
-The kitchen was fine, but not well appointed..a few mismatched mugs and some silverware
-In general the room was clean and orderly, but not furnished well
