I stayed in the Hotel Mecure Atrium Hannover for 4 nights as I was on a business trip. This hotel is located very much away from the city, with a taxi it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the main train station of Hannover. Also right next to the hotel, the fire-fighters are located. My room was in the fifth floor, I did not hear them. But in the lobby you can.
In front of the hotel there is a subways restaurant.
The hotel has a big lobby where during soccer world-cup they show the games on a big TV. They have three rooms to eat in, you can also sit outside in the inner yard when the weather is nice. In the lobby you can see all the way up to the seventh flloor and the glass ceiling. There are two elevators with glass walls.
Rooms are big, at least mine was. They have a minibar/fridge, a large bathroom and a big twin bed (two put together). The bathroom looked ok to me, it had a hair drier and a tub where you can take a shower in. The shower is mounted to the wall in that way that it is not really easy to take a shower and also after showering you will have some water on the floor.
There is complimentary shampoo, lotion and soap as well as shoe shine.
Prices from the mini bar: a chocolate bar EUR 2,50; a water (0,5l) EUR 3,50.
The room has a TV with international stations and pay TV. One annoying fact was that if you change between certain channels too fast (for example from 4 to 8 and back again) you will by accident go to channel 48. And that is payTV (blue movies). The screen is black as you have to confirm your choice first but nonetheless you hear the sound of these movies. Be careful about this if you don't want to have an embarassing moment. I left them a note about this.
The hotel provides W-Lan internet for EUR 4,95 for 24 hours. It is not that fast, I needed to work and it took ages. In case you should not have W-Lan, you can use a cable connection but that costs EUR 20,- for 24 hours. But these 24 hours go with the day and not with the usage, meaning that the 24 hour period ends every day at 12 midnight. At it is not that fast as well.
The best thing about this hotel is the food. If you order breakfast, it costs EUR 15 I think. That is expensive but the choice is very big. You can get everything like the typical German breakfast with rolls and jam and so on, but also fruit, beans, sausages, eggs (boiled, fried...), ham, soup... Really, there is much to chose from.
Lunch and dinner are also great, depending on the load of the hotel they have buffet or a la carte. The cook is great, there was nothing I could complain about. A beer costs EUR 4,- by the way.
As close to the hotel is some clinic, you will see some patients walking along in the hotel. This clinic also has internatiol guests, we saw around 10 Arabians there. The hotel is also known for their seminar rooms so there will also be some groups from different companies.
So I can only recommend this hotel.
