I am frequently in Hannover and have stayed at quite a variety of properties. As I was working in the vicinity of the Congress Hotel and had stayed there before, I decided to book in again. It is a good business hotel with unexceptional facilities. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are of modest proportions, the beds adequate, the bathroom has heated floors. The bath towels tend to the small but this is typical for German hotels in this price category. Internet was available by the hour for 1 Euro - vouchers available at the desk - or if you have a drink at the bar - for free. This was a moderate inconvenience and I could have, for Eu18 per day, purchased an add on package with breakfast and internet included. The bar restaurant lacks atmosphere but if you are hungry and thirsty, it has the necessary to take the edge off after a long day of work.
Little things often make a difference and they were not be to had here: my wife's bedside lamp wasn't working. She noticed there was no bulb and as the front desk said they couldn't supply one till the next day, we took a bulb from another lamp. The fault was the lamp. Of course, they assured us that it would be working the next day, but it wasn't. Not a big deal as we were staying for only three nights.
But the location is excellent with a nice walk through the park to the centre or if the weather suggests otherwise, the tram is convenient as well. I wouldn't stay here if I were on holiday but for a few days working in Hannover, it was adequate.
