The hotal place neer the main train station, excellent room, good atmosphere, good service.

This mid-class hotel doesn’t look appealing from the outside compared to other Crowne Plaza hotels, furthermore is its location not thrilling but still ok. Our check-in was involved with lots of discussion with the receptionist but at the end of the day I know what I reserved as a Priority Club-member and got it.
Once arrived on the 5th floor, we found a Superior twin bed room, with 2 sofas, walkable wardrobe, but all worn out. To my surprise the small bathroom and the separate toilet was modern. The balcony was big, unfortunately the view on Hannover is lacking of architectural highlights. The march to the Maschsee takes approx. 20mins., the shopping streets are 10 walking mins. away.
There are certainly better, more modern hotels in Hannover but it suited well for a night.

Crowne Plaza Schweizerhof Hotel in Hannover is a 4 Star Hotel, very good located.. just a 5 minutes walk from the Central Station.
The building itself is a kind of 60es or 70es styled building. Not very nice.
The lobby though is newly renovated and very well designed ! very stylish and comfortable..

But that is a very big contrast to the hallways and the rooms..
What an awful design in the room.. Some rooms with very very odd colours (Purple, Black, Yellow, Red and Gold) all mixed up, my eyes were hurting !!!

Other rooms in more decent colours, but very old fashioned !
The TV in all rooms is small and old !
Bathroom is clean but on the smallish side.

If you need Internet in the room just dont go to this hotel. NO WIRELESS... Only internet via cable !! And what a rip off.. 30 minutes : 5 € !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (24 h 16€)
come on Crowne Plaza.. this is 2010 !!!!!

Staff is friendly and the rooms are clean.. but there are certain much better options in Hannover !! Stay somewhere else if u like it new and more stylish !

The Crowne Plaza in Hannover is a solid european style hotel. The room I had was generously sized and amenities are decent. Furnishings and design are typical of other European hotels that I've stayed at, meaning nothing fancy despite the price but I am expecting it. Bathroom was decent sized for a European hotel The hotel has an attached spa and fitness gym. Didnt use the spa, prices seemed expensive compared to the same services in the US. The gym is modest but still useful (treadmill, two variations on an elliptical, bicycle and a weight machine). Had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the meal was very good.

Location is about a 5 minute walk from the Hauptbanhof. The hotel is located on the north and east side of the train station, essentially the backside and away from the main Ernst August plaza. This places the Crowne Plaza on some quiet side streets but still a very short walk from the main shopping areas. Some local restaurants and coffee shops within a block of the hotel too.

One problem I had there was the internet connection. After my first day, the wireless internet connection went down and stayed down for the rest of my stay (about 2 weeks). Inquired several times over the 2 weeks about the problem and when it would be fixed and the front desk staff had no idea. Except for lobby internet access, I found it very tough not to have internet for my laptop in my room for 2 weeks. Hopefully they realize the importance of the access for business travelers.
