This was our second time at Rennschuh and it will be moore when we passing by.
The hotel is a bit tired, it is time for them to renovate. The free wireless internet does not work properly. The breakfast is continental and good. The swimming pool is small and cozy. Free parking is a big plus for this hotel.
I will however not come back to this hotel.
We stayed at this hotel for five nights as part of our son’s registration to Gottingen University. We booked a triple room for all three of us. The room was just about right for what we expected. Room was clean, bedding was lovely and the bathroom was spotless.
The hotel should be proud of their staffs; they were charming and very helpful.
The only thing was missing was a Tea/Coffee making facility inside the room, hence a 4* for the room.
The hotel also provides excellent breakfast which we enjoyed while we were there.
Hotel Rennschuh is your typical basic European-style hotel. It's a place to sleep, eat breakfast, and be on your way. I was here for several days on business and it worked fine for my needs. The rooms were clean (though small and a bit dated) and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, as is usually the case in German hotels, no matter how cheap. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was typical and quite adequate. Location on Kasseler-Landstrasse is out of the city center, but was convenient to where I was working and is only an 8 EUR cab-ride away from the train station. I went running every day behind the businesses and housing areas on the main street- there are some great walking paths that cut through the gardens and green-space. The hotel also has a pool and sauna with tanning beds as well as a small bar area for a cold beer. There is an attached restaurant for dinner if you arrive late or don't want to go back into the city center.
I would stay here again and have no complaints.
