“A nice alternative to overpriced Frankfurt hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during my business trip to Germany.
A front office staff is simpely wonderfull. They make you feel welcome in the first moment you come and they were professional, friendly, helpfull and competent during the whole stay.
Rooms are clean, with nice furniture and good lightening. Two phones make communicating easier, but also internet is free and working all right. Rooms are not so big, but if one is traveling alone has enough space both for work and relax.
The only negative point is that a lovely hotel bar is no smoking only. But this is not so much a resentment to the hotel management, but to the frustrated, rasistic non smokers who are too narrow minded to understand that one simply can not enjoy an old cognac without a good cigar!!!!!!!

Room Tip: If you are alone standard room should, if traveling as couple better to take a superior room

“Rooms are good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I stayed in this hotel several times in early 2011. The rooms are large but getting a little tired. This hotel is in a great location but can be expensive at times. Breakfast is also quite expensive.

“Classical and comfortable”

Historical and very classic hotel across from the Kochbrunnen. My room was large, quiet and comfortable, but the bathroom was small without a shower curtain. Just 5 min. walk to the casino/Kurhaus.

“Nice for a one night stay”

We went to Wiesbaden to visit friends. I booked the room online and had no problems checking in. The location is good, it's close to the old town pedway of shops and cafes and about a 15 min walk to the main train station where you can catch a train to Frankfurt airport every 20 minutes.

You may want to check your room before you take it. The hotel is grand but the rooms are small and you may want to see if it is clean enough for you. I stayed one night so I didn't care the room was in the back corner of the hotel

The staff was not special, as a German speaking guest, they were polite and pleasant to me. The exception was the morning restaurant staff that seemed too busy to take notice of my needs. It is not a 5 star hotel by any standard I'm aware of, may 3 or 4 on a very good day.

Room Tip: 25€ per day parking! Take the train. Forget the breakfast if it's crowded and go across the...

“Wonderful old hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

We stayed in this hotel recently, for a visit to the Christmas markets. The hotel is old with great character. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The beds were also very comfortable, soft but firm. This was probably the quietest room we have ever stayed in with the door almost 4 inches thick (100mm). The windows were all double ones. We overlooked a courtyard.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar was very pleasant to relax in after being in the town, a little expensive but friendly and relaxing. I don't know why but the bar is closed on Sunday night.
The hotel is very central close to the main shopping street (3 mins walk) It's location is also excellent for visiting the marvelous Christmas market.
The thermal baths are well worth a visit especially to relax after a busy day shopping.
We would love to stay in this hotel again, maybe next Christmas.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking courtyard very quiet.
