It has its charm, however everything is old – the walls would need a painting, the floor a new carpet. Walls are very thin and I would say half of the rooms have the entrance from the inner yard, via a terrace. So when a group leaves at 5 a.m. you can hear each trolley and hear every word.
There are at least two types of rooms: twin room, very small and basic, and double room with a double bed and a small extendable sofa (and with a small bathtub and hairdryer). We have booked via Jetair and those where the only two available in their brochure. However they might have other types two. The hotel also has rooms in a barrel – so it’s part of the Crazy Hotels of the World network 
On the bright side, the heating works - a bit too much as the air became dry and in the first night our daughter woke up several times asking for water. In the subsequent nights we put glasses of water on the heaters and we all slept better.
The hotel is located in a very lively part of the city (sometimes too lively!) so it might not be the best choice for families with children.
The hotel has a small parking (for about 10 cars) in the inner yard. To fit more cars in, you can leave the car keys at the reception and then they move it when someone else needs to go out. There are couple public parkings within walking distance, free only after 18.00 in the evening. The train station is also in walking distance.
The reception staff was ok and English speaking, however the restaurant staff let much to be desired in terms of friendliness and speed. The food was decent and plenty of it.
The city is indeed very charming. We took a “Romantic tour” with the cable-car passing above the vineyards, boat on the Rhine and a visit to a castle – it took as the whole day and we came back with the last boat. So if you plan to take this tour, make sure you start early as it takes at least 8 hours!
