Hotel is very small. Everything in this hotel is ready to be updated. The carpeting is what primarily bugged me: could they not invest in a decent rug cleaning in the rooms and halls?
But while they could stand a cleaning, they were not smelly or sticky or anything like that.
The room was very basic. Bathroom was small , but clean and adequate. Bed was surprisingly comfortable (for a german hotel bed..lol).
Hotel is in a great location. Close to the Zeil shopping, right on the mainline for the Xmas markets in the Romer and near some great places to eat and relax.
Breakfast buffet was included and more than adequate....not great...but then I enjoy yogurt, cereal fruit and some cheeses in the morning most days.
The halls are small and compact, so if your hall mates are coming in late and loud - chances are you can hear them!
But I slept pretty well once the noise settled down! (8-0 !!
I would only recommend this hotel to someone who was looking for a bargain spot near the Romer and willing to overlook the need for any "plush" whatsoever.
(also, the small elevator's stainless steel walls were chock full of "etchings"...leading me to believe this to be a step up from the local hostel for the younger crowd....lol)
Reception desk staff not among the most friendly I have encountered in my trips to Germany......but eventually will come around if you remain polite and persistent.
Also, YOU CANNOT PULL UP to the front of this hotel. If you are driving - nearest parking lot is about 3 blocks away and about 15e a day. If being taken by taxi, you will have to walk about halfway up the block over cobblestones - so be mindful of the amount of luggage you plan to bring with you here.
Has a fee for WiFi access.
Overall - I would not recommend this hotel to everyone ....... it will be adequate for the budget minded and a place to sleep in a reasonably clean and comfortable room
