“Dirty Bed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2009

The hotel is located 1.5 miles away from central station so is a little bit out the way. It is close to a subway station and the area is very quiet. The staff speak very little English which was a problem. The breakfast buffet was good. The general condition of the room was excellent and very modern however the cleanliness was appalling. My bed had dark hair and bits from somebody else and the dust in the room was thick. If the bed was clean I would have been happy for the price I paid however I would not recommend this hotel to stay.

“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2008

I stayed in this hotel for five nights. Friendly staff, very tidy, room was huge - with bathroom, kitchenette and balcony.
Located beside a little park, not too busy streets nearby. Underground and train stations only a few hundred meters away.
I will definitely stay here again and I can recommend this hotel.
Only limitation is the lack of elevator - staircase is also a little unconvenient so try to get a room on the 1st floor.

The hotel had very few rooms but the room we stayed in was very large it had two separate rooms both with tv's and one room even had a stove. As for the toiletries there were none no soap to wash your hands, no shampoo, no toothpaste, and no number to reach the front desk in any of the rooms. At least the front desk guy was helpful...well a little.

“A good, clean budget choice in Frankfurt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2007

This is a small, family run budget hotel, situated on the attractive square of the same name, in a quiet residential suburb.

Although a little way from the centre of Frankfurt, it is only a few minutes’ walk from Frankfurt West station, with frequent S-bahn suburban trains to both the centre, the Messe exhibition centre and tourist destinations like Oberursel and Bad Homburg. Five minutes in the other direction is Leipziger Strasse, which has a good selection of shops and bars, as well as an U-bahn underground station, where trains will take you into the centre in about 10 minutes. Altogether, we found it a convenient location, although those wanting to be able to walk into the centre will want to stay elsewhere.

The hotel itself features a small reception, which also doubles as the breakfast room. Our room was in the new block behind the hotel. This was a little spartan on first appearance, thanks to the wooden floor, pale wooden furniture and white walls. But it actually proved very comfortable, with plenty of wardrobe space, a small room-safe, and comfy twin beds. TV includes both German and international satellite channels (CNN but not BBC), and ‘adult’ pay-channels for those so inclined.

The bathroom only had a shower, but that was perfectly OK for us. It was below freezing on several nights during our visit, so it was nice to find the heating was both controllable and efficient! I have seen reports from other review web-sites complaining of noise from other guests, but we had no problems at all.

Everything in the hotel was spotlessly clean, and maid service was efficient and nicely unobtrusive – no knocks on doors. The receptionist on our (Sunday) arrival was new and a little flustered when I told her our room-safe had been locked closed, but she managed to sort out the problems in minutes. The regular morning receptionist was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and very efficient, as well as being impressively multilingual. Large hotels could learn a lot from this!

The breakfast was the usual continental affair, with toast, bread, rolls, hard boiled eggs and a selection of meats, cheeses and jams. This was fine for us, but those used to larger hotels might find it a little limited. The breakfast room might also be a little crowded if all the guests came at once, but we had no problems at all.

We paid €65 a night for a twin room, including all taxes and breakfast. For Frankfurt, we found this excellent value for money, and would happily stay here again.

  • Liked — Clean, quiet, friendly, good-value, spacious room
  • Disliked — Breakfast a little limited
