“Spoiled American?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2010

Visiting family who have been living in Frankfurt for 30 years. Picked this hotel as the location was close to their apartment. Room seemed very small, only one pane windows so you could hear all the noise from outside. Room was next to stairwell and over restaurant. Using earplugs is a must if you're a light sleeper. Had to run down for towels one day and another day ran out of kleenex. Went to frontdesk and he gave me a roll of paper towel instead :0\ Folks working frontdesk were very nice and spoke english. Had breakfast one morning and it was good, nice variety but not include in the price of the room. Even thought Germany was experiencing a horrible cold spell the duvet covers were nice and comfy and warm. Beware: do not go to Radio Shack for electrical converter. The one sold to us in Michigan did not work in the outlet in Germany or England. Would recommend but if you're an American not used to european hotels I'd use a better known hotel chain instead.

“Had a great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

Stayed for two nights with teenage daughter at this great little City Hotel. It is in a quet residential part of the city, but only a few tram stops from the centre. The U Bahn line 5 is only a short walk away on the main road, 5 stops away from the main rail station and only 2 to the Romer in the centre. The Zeil shopping area is a bout a 10-15 minute walk away.
The hotel itself does not look much from the out side, but inside is clean and modern. The room (302) was very clean with a good bathroom and really comfortable beds. The room was spotlessly clean and cleaned both days.
Breakfast is seved from 7 am to 10 am in a pleasant dining room. There was plenty to choose from, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, cheese, meat, bread, cakes, fruit juice, tea coffee and loads more!!. Self service. It was very nice.
Breakfast was included in the price, I paid £42 per night which I thought was great value.(Octopus)
The staff were friendly enough. There was a lounge with some vending machines, some free English language newspapers.
The hotel is child friendly and there is a lift to all floor. I would reccommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

“great deal”

booked this room just a day before for 40 euros, paid for a single but was given a double with a baby bed
nice area, quiet neighborhood with a grocery store about 3 minutes away and an italian place about 2 minutes away
my room was clean, modern and very comfortable
the staff was great, at the reception and the cleaning lady who also brought the baby bed was sweet as pie
this place is a must for the price
not sure what the negative part is, unless you need room service, a pool or wifi

“Good Value, Good breakfast, Central. Thin walls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

A nice, basic, well-run place. Very close to everything in the city center. Helpful front desk staff. Good breakfast of cheese and meat, cereal, yogurt, toast, juice, coffee.

My only complaint is the walls seem to be thin and you can hear everything, particularly people walking in the hallways. Not a huge issue, but if you are a little jet-lagged and sleeping lightly, you will hear voices and footsteps in the halls and adjoining rooms.

Wifi was free and good, ask for a code at the desk.
