“Aggressive Crooks”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I booked my family into this hotel for the weekend just gone - 55 euros for a single, 75 for a double. I specifically said no breakfast was required when I made the booking. It is 5 minutes from my house and seemed nice and clean, which is why I booked it.
The day after checking out my father informed me he had been charged for 3 breakfasts and a drink from the mini bar which he hadn't had (he had 1 but had been charged for 2). The other room I booked for my aunt and uncle had also had breakfast booked against it for 2 people. Yes, they all should have checked when they checked out, but as they checked out at 5 a.m I could not see how they could have been charged for a breakfast which wasn't available until 6 or 6.30, so I decided to pop in and see what had happened.
The man on reception clearly had a problem with me even daring to question why breakfast had been charged for, huffing and puffing and taking his time looking through various folders and his computer. He then claimed that the breakfast is included in the price of the room and in a raised voice asked me to explain what my problem was. I told him there was no need to get aggressive, that it was a simple question that I had asked, but as he was being confrontational that I would never book anyone in there again (I live in Frankfurt and have regular visitors). Combined with the extra drink being charged for and the attitude taken with me I can only assume that these guys are trying to pull a fast one on unsuspecting tourists and being caught out by a German speaking English girl threw them. I was happy to admit that we may have made a mistake, that I may have misunderstood (he didn't go out of his way to explain that breakfast is included, just that 'the computer adds it on') but the guy's confrontational tone and raised voice was unacceptable. Never, ever, ever will I book with them again and I will be informing the local tourist board.

“Clean and quite place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

Very nice and clean place in walk disrtance from Messe. A lot of restaurants around, very quite part of Frankfurt. The rooms are clean, breakfast is really good. Some of staff speak Russian.

“Affordable, small but nice”

It is an affordable, small hotel in a zone with a lot of restaurants not far away from metro. The breakfast is very good and has varied food, even some cooked ones like sausages and baked eggs. The small room was very clean and quiet. The personal is friendly and helpful. I stayed for a long period there and it was a pleasant stay.

“Service with a smile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2007

I have just returned from a wonderful stay in Frankfurt and was very impressed with this very affordable hotel which is situated in a very pleasant area of Frankfurt - near the Leipzigerstrasse where there is any amount of restaurants, cafes and shops.

What I appreciated most was the friendliness and warmth of the staff. I never had the impression that anything I asked was too much bother for them. They also spoke excellent English which is an issue which has been raised by other reviewers of hotels in Germany!

The hotel room was very comfortable with everything you could really need in it - apart from a kettle and tea bags (but this is a very British thing to look for!). I was in a single room which was on the back of the hotel which meant it was quiet and avoided the strong sunlight which hits the front of the hotel during the day. I had a very comfortable queensize bed - which made it quite hard to get out of in the morning! There was good wardrobe space and a very good dresser/desk piece of furniture. I also appreciated the mini bar in the room.

Breakfast in the morning was very good. No real surprises! Bread rolls, ham, cheese, toast, cornflakes, museli, boiled eggs, fruit, juice, tea, coffee and also some warm meat - sausages and so on. A very good way to start the day off! It certainly kept me going most of the day. I think you would be hard pleased not to find something here you liked!

In the foyer there was a computer terminal with free internet acces - very useful for staying in touch with people at home. There were also WiFi connections (Though I'm not sure if they were in the bedrooms or not!).

I would definately recommend this hotel to friends if they were going to be in Frankfurt for any time. It does become more expensive during fairs but this is to be expected.

“Good breakfast, good rest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2007

I was pleasantly surprised - looking for an affordable roof over my head the night before a conference. Arrived late, staff was there, awake and friendly. Room small but ok, very quiet - I had requested one and got a room on the top floor. Could sleep with the window open (no smell issues like other reviewer). Pleasantly surprised by the breakfast, which included some cooked items like scrambled eggs in addition to the usual spread.
Would go there again.
