This hotel was acceptable as a crash pad and we were happy that it was completely smokefree -- and for €59 per night for two people, including breakfast, we didn't expect much. We only arrived late in the evening by train almost right next door at the "Hauptbahnhof" (main train station), and left early the next day for the airport, by S-Bahn, also from the train station. The room was very clean but also very dated; the bathroom must have had a recent update (see photo).
Despite the close proximity to the train tracks, we were not disturbed by noise or vibrations. Breakfast was included but food handling was an issue. First, things were insufficiently cooled, for example, yogurt pots sitting out on a table for a few hours (no ice, no refrigeration). Second, the scrambled yet runny eggs were lukewarm and had been standing for a long time at room temperature (no heating). I reported the hotel to the local health department, recommending an inspection. The only item with correct temperature was the coffee.
Funny sidenote: as a "Betthupferl" (candy on the pillow), there was a (chocolate?) bar of "Speed." [Just to be super careful, this was really just harmless candy with an unfortunate name.]
Don't get fooled by the pictures on their website or rather take them with a pinch of salt; maybe some of the rooms look like this, but not all. Methinks the PR person who wrote the copy hasn't been to the hotel.
Besides, we got neither a bottle of water nor were we greeted with a glass of "Winzersekt" (i.e. German champagne); on the contrary, we were greeted after a standing at reception for a good 10-15 minutes, while the person on duty that evening had a heated debate with a tour operator. He apologized, but that situation could've been handled differently.
