“Quality and a perfect stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012
1
person found this review helpful

I just spent one night in this Hilton and it was probably the nicest Hilton I have ever stayed in. First of all a very friendly greeting from Johann on the front desk, then a his female colleague just popped out from nowhere to give me my room card.

I asked for English newspapers and was given 3. I had lunch in the hotel bar and ate a delicious chicken ceasar salad, the chicken was hot and fresh. Friendly timely service.

The room was spotless, very comfortable bed, pillow and a good temperature. No noise, a plethora of English channels on the TV. A big bath and a big shower...Tea and coffee facilities. The only fault I could find was probably the size of the room, it was a little on the small side.

The gym and pool are quite extraordinary, plenty of cardio machines and resistance weights. The sauna and hamman centre is clean, modern and thoroughly relaxing.

I could write about the other little things that this Hilton provides because these also make the difference (e.g. calling the reception and they actually answer quickly, walking out to get you a taxi, wonderful piano player on a Sunday).

This hotel is worth every penny!

Room Tip: Choose one near to the lift otherwise you have to walk a little bit.

“large windows”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Beautiful modern hotel in the heart of Frankfurt. The hotel has large windows with magnificent views. The rooms are truly prestronne and well equipped, but large windows in the hotels are unfortunately rare. Unfortunately the big downside of this hotel is paid online, and 22 euros per 24 hours is very high. Great location and friendly staff, but that standard in five star hotels.

Dear Iwan,

Thank you very much for your visit at the Hilton Frankfurt this month. We are pleased to read that you spent an enjoyable time at our hotel and hope your business related appointments during your stay went successfully, too.

Our floor-to-ceiling-windows in all our guest rooms and suites are indeed something special and give our valued guests the opportunity to enjoy the famous skyline of Frankfurt.
I cannot see from your review in which room category you stayed in. But if you attach great importance on the view out of your room, I can highly recommend our Deluxe Plus Rooms. They are located on each corner of the hotel offering spectacular panoramic view.

Please do not hesitate to contact our guest relations team when planning your next trip to Frankfurt. The team would be delighted to assist your with your booking and the perfect room for you.

With kind regards,

Annika Schmidt

“Excellent Gym, Pool, and Breakfast Spread”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

The gym located at the hotel is top quality. Uniquely, there is a lap pool (25m) which is the only one I have seen in Germany (or Europe) and a strong attraction for swimmers. The breakfast buffet is expensive but extensive and good quality. The location is within 10-15 minute walking distance of the main pedestrian zone, the train station, and many buildings in the financial district.

Dearest Guest,

Thank you very much for your most kind feedback shared with us and other travellers on tripadvisor.com.

Especially your comments about our half-olympic-sized indoor swimming pool are much appreciated. Please allow me to add the information that this pool has a historical background. Before the Hilton Frankfurt was built 14 years ago, the area was a former public swimming bath, called "Stadtbad Mitte", for the duration of more than 30 years.

We hope to welcome you back at the Hilton Frankfurt again this May. In the meantime we wish you all the best and remain

with kind regards,

Annika Schmidt

“Where's the service?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Very well appointed hotel in terms of location and decor, but the service was very much lacking. I'm not talking about anything over the top, I'm referring to approaching the front of the hotel with two suitcases and struggling to open door. On another occasion, waiting for someone to help hail a taxi. Wifi was 20.00 EUR per day. Also be very careful with breakfast.....upon arriving at the restaurant for breakfast, one is asked to sign a piece of paper without explanation........it turns out that what you're signing for is prepayment for the fabulous breakfast buffet - 30 EUR. In this midst of disfunction, there is a very helpful staff member on the front desk - Johanns.

“Average Business Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012
2
people found this review helpful

Paid 260EUR a night for a king size bed without breakfast (30EUR extra), without a complimentory bottle of mineral water on the room and - most annoying - without free internet/WIFI.

Out of principle, I deduct 2 stars for so called business hotels which have the impertinence to charge extra for commodities like internet access.

The rooms itself and the Hotel is quite nice apart from that but nothing special.
