“Sorry I booked it!”

Where to start! I went with my sister for a weekend break to Frankfurt. Firstly, when booking the room on booking.com the entire amount was taken out of my account which I did not like!!! When we arrived the guy behind the Front Desk didn't have our booking at all which was irritating. The rooms were creepy, the Hotel was creepy, I felt like I was in a horror film, my sister agreed. There was a step up to the Bathroom which nearly killed us a few times as we nearly went flying on the tiles!!! The rooms were so hot at night as there was no a/c so I kept on waking up. The Staff at Breakfast were lovely, the guy behind the Reception Desk looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but there. The price for the room was extortionate, I looked at the reviews on this site and thought we would be staying in a luxurious Hotel. The only plus is it's location was good and the breakfast was really good in the morning. I would suggest that this Hotel seriously updates everything about itself and put the Staff that were on the Breakfast Rota on Friday and Saturday morning just gone at the Front Desk, they were lovely and friendly and get rid of that weirdo you have at the Front Desk. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.

“Great location”

This hotel is very close to Frankfurt main station. Staff was very helpful. The rooms were large and the complimentary bar fridge was a pleasant surprise. The bed is very comfortable and bathroom was spacious with a bathtub. Free internet was available from the rooms. The buffet breakfast was great, but could be better if there could be a little variations every other day.
Expensive car parking and slow internet.

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I always stayed at the Excelsor Hotel next door (same management or maybe owner?) and for a chance I stay at Monopol and was expecting a real 4 stars hotel (Excelsor is 3 stars hotel and quite good)

Instead we found out the 3 rooms we booked is old and "dark" the breakfast is not as good as Excelsor in variaties although the free mini bar is the same and free wifi also

Overal is OK hotel but I prefered Excelsior

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are not having a view but you might want to get room facing the main station

“Good Hotel which offers a nice alternative to airport hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Good hotel which offers very good value. I was pleased by the quality of the breakfast and the cleanliness of it's rooms

I originally planned on staying at an airport hotel as I was in between flights. However, the inexpensive and fast S-Hahn train from the airport to the Hauptbanhof made me realize that this hotel was a more attractive and less expensive choice. Door to door from the airport to the hotel it was 25 minutes

“CHEAP AND CHEERFUL, GREAT LOCATION & FREE BEER - WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

The Monopol is across the road from the Central Station, a handy if not particularly salubrious location. Staff were friendly and welcoming, quick to point out that here you get (for just over 60 euros for a pre-booked single) a minibar containing soft drinks and two beers (!), plus coffee and cakes free for most of the day. The room was a bit tacky, with a loose door handle and not much of a view, but I spent a comfortable night here and enjoyed the decent breakfast and good choice of fresh coffees. It’s just a couple of minutes’ walk down to the river and you can amble along the waterfront or cross to the many museums on the other side. Excellent value but hardly luxurious.

Room Tip: Call room service if you have a problem. They are very attentive.
