2.Promised packed breakfast as early morn check out but wasnt provided.
3.Late Evening on reaching room shocked to see room door was totally open, presume left open by cleaning staff, fortunately computer and other valuables all there.

I normally stay at the Continental when I'm in Frankfurt, but had read reviews of the Top Ambassador and thought I'd give it a try. I guess I read the wrong reviews. I was only staying one night before heading off to the airport next day, so for that reason I will say the place was adequate. But the single room was old, dingy and smelly. The mini-bar promised in their literature didn't exist. The bathroom was small and awkward and the whole room was pretty depressing. There was BBC for an hour or so in the morning. Apart from that, no news in English. The hotel lies just to one side of Frankfurt's sleaze district and although it isn't in it technically, I wouldn't want to linger on the street at night. On the plus side, I have to say the staff were quite friendly at the front desk and there was a nice breakfast room with a pretty good spread.
I'll stick to the Continental from now on. No prize there either, but at least I don't have to hold my nose.
