We recently traveled to Germany for part business, part family trip and stayed at Alexander am Zoo b/c of the proximity to the zoo and the rave reviews on Trip Advisor. We traveled with our 2 year-old toddler and so I thought being close to the zoo would be appropriate in case we ran out of things to do during our trip. Well we never got around to making it to the zoo! The location is perfect as there are two U stops a very short walk from the hotel that get you to the center of the city in about 3 minutes, which is where we spent most of our time. There are several restaurants around the neighborhood (lots of good pizza places for picky children) and a quaint shopping district with more restaurants, bars and shops just a short walk away.

The hotel service was excellent. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful in assisting us with getting around the city, giving recommendations for restaurants, and responding to our needs quickly. They offer some "free" services such as the wonderful breakfast, adapters for your electronics and borrowing of dvd player and movies. I say "free" b/c in some cases you leave a deposit (or it's charged to your room) but it's credited back when you return what you've borrowed. Wifi is not free but it's only 5 euros for 24 hrs.

Our room size was adequate. It was just a regular room with a king size bed that fit the three of us nicely.

I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers.

Stayed there because I wanted to meet some friends. Bornheim is a nice location with plenty restaurants and bars and is well liked by the locals. (I used to live in Frankfurt)
The hotel is clean and the staff I came across was very friendly and helpful. It is not a 5 star hotel but if you consider the price I think you do get good value for money. For a 5 star hotel you have to pay 50 Euros + and I rather spend them on Berger Strasse.
The room was big enough but due to warm weather rather hot, so I fully opened the window at night and it was ok.

Got to the hotel already 1 p.m. and did not expect to be able to checkin. But what a pleasant surprise, Alexander suite was ready and we could get in right away !

We had booked the Alexander suite which is perfect for a family of four enabling entire family to stay together. Suite has one bed room and we got two additional beds in the living room.

Suite was in very good condition and spacious.

WIFI was not free, but a terminal with free internet access was available in the reception area.

Hotel is located about 15 mins walk from main shopping street. Alternatively you can take the subway 2-3 stops. There are also a few restaurants in nearby area so need to go downtown.

Breakfast was included in price being very good both in terms of quality and choices.

All in all a great stay all family members really enjoyed. We would definitely book this hotel again.

Excellent location,the hotel is at 2 minutes from the metro station, close to the zoo and not far from a shopping street where you can find a large choice of restaurants at a reasonable price.
This a nice green and very quiet area.You can reach the city center in 10 min and the exhibition center in 20 minutes.
Excellent service, good breakfast, comfortable and very quiet.
