“Do not stay here, you have been warned!!”

We originally booked this hotel as we thought it would be cheap and cheerful however it turned out to be just cheap and miserable. Here are the reasons why: Location is in the rough area of the city, very drab and run down. The reception area is very small and the lift is tiny. Our first room was next door to the elevator shaft and would have been impossible to sleep through the noise if we had actually spent the night there. We asked to change rooms and the second room looked exactly the same, very plain, basic and dirty. The floor obviously hadn’t been vacuumed, there were stains on the carpet and up the walls and stains on the curtains. Most disappointing of all is that the bed sheets, duvets and pillows were full of holes and stained. Anybody with an expectation of basic hygiene will be disappointed with this hotel. The bathroom was so small you had to turn sideways to get into the shower (and I’m only a UK size 12)! The fixtures in the bathroom were loose, the towels were frayed and old and generally in a shabby state. The breakfast was very basic and the atmosphere was unfriendly in a small canteen style room. We were actually booked in for a 3 night stay but only stayed the first night as it was so bad. We complained to the manager in the morning but he just shrugged his shoulders and couldn’t have been less interested. We left the next morning with no refund for the nights we didn’t stay but were just relieved to leave. This hotel is fine if you’re just looking to crash somewhere after a drunken night out but don’t expect anything more. We would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

“Don't stay here!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2010

The website said that parking was available and that is why we booked, be aware that they only have 6 parking spots which are most likely taken by staff. Parking block is available about 3 blocks away for approximately €15 per day.
Customer service is poor. We waited 10 minutes to check in while the receptionist was on the phone (more than 1 call) without any acknowledgement.
The lift can only fit one person plus a suitcase, so have to take a couple of trips if more than 1.
The room (room 29) on first look was ok but on closer look was quite disgusting.
Floor with green/blue carpet is brown in places, also has a dark red stain, possibly blood or wine. This stain also goes over the wall as well.
The room consists of 2 single beds pushed together. Blanket with cover full of blood stains. We had to ask for a new one as full of stains. Tried to ring reception to request new blanket but the button that said reception didn’t work. We had to walk down with the dirty blanket and ask the girl with the broken leg for another one. She took us in the lift to another room and pinched another blanket from there.
The TV is about the size of a mobile phone.
The bathroom is modern but very small. Shower pressure was good though.
The walls are stained, the door handle was covered in some substance, the toilet seat was also dirty.
Mini-bar and in-house safe but very awkward to get to.
Someone entered room while we were out as the door was not locked in the same way we left it. Nothing was taken as we had our suitcases chained together and attached to a chair.
Location was right next to zoo. The U Train is one minute away.
Breakfast was not much, cereal, yoghurt, bread rolls and meat.
Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone. Was rather a scary and disgusting experience.

“totally fooled by their online pictures”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2010

i checked in at 3pm and was told that the hotel was full except the top floor (5th). Elevators only went to the 4th floor so i needed to take my luggages and walked up one floor myself. The top floor room was not renovated (only the below floors were), but they still charged me the same rate (euro110 for one nite). The hotel never mentioned about the top floor condition in their website and when i checked in. I think this is not honest at all.

The heating was on-an-off the whole nite and there was no heating in the shower. The ventilation was connected with the light so there was no way you can turn it off even if was freezing. The TV was from the 80s (no flatscreen) and when i complainted the other morning, the receptionist even told me the floor was actually renovated already. My friends stayed at the hotel one month ago and they were told by another receptionist that the top floor was not renovated and that was why they were not recommended to move to the 5th floor.

I didn't get any sleep throughout the nite becuz it was freezing in the room. When i complained the other morning, the receptionist admitted the heating was not good and he said he'll report the hotel manager and email back to me their explanation. It's already been 5 days and i haven't received a word from the hotel. ..
