First of all, we specifically requested a non-smoking room, however when we got in, it had a very persistent and heavy cigarette smell, which did not disappear even though we kept the windows open. There was the feeling that the smell came out of the walls. Also, about the walls - one side of the room and a part of the ceiling was covered with mildew residues, which also generated an unpleasant and unhealthy smell. The main lamp did not work, the room was so terribly small (even though it was a double room), that we could not step around when we opened our luggage on the floor. When we requested to change our room, as we saw they had some free double rooms, which we supposed did not smell, the reception person told us that "you anyway are leaving tomorrow- we cannot do that". The area where the hotel is placed is really not what you assume seeing the picture of the hotel - the street is surrounded by sex-shops, is kind of dirty, there are beggars and homeless people sleeping in the street, etc. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone, as for the price they charge you can definitely get better deals in Hamburg. We had to move to another hotel, which offered a comparable price but was incomparably superior in every way.
