This is what might be termed a boutique hotel. It's small, and stylishly decorated with the rooms done in a nice colour scheme. I especially liked the curtains, and an apple by the bed is a nice touch. In fact, there are a lot of nice touches, and a great deal of thought and care has been put into the hotel.

The ground floor is more like someone's home than a hotel, with comfortable furniture and a flower and candle in a paper bag on the tables in the dining area. There is also a comfortable lounge area.

Staff are friendly and they extended the opening of the kitchen so that I, and others who came after, could have a late meal. Nice to see they run the hotel for the guests, not themselves. The only minus is that the one man doing breakfast could do with some help, as often tables remain unlaid after someone has left and various things like cups and spoons must sometimes be requested. That shouldn't be necessary. Breakfast though was fine, and they have a small menu for the evening.

As is often the case in Europe rooms are a bit on the small side, but quite adequate. The bathroom was bright and there was no problem with the shower. The rooms facing the main road suffer from traffic noise, and in hot weather keeping the windows open might mean sleepless nights. Even with the window closed the noise was there, although not a major problem.

A U-bahn (subway) station is exactly opposite the hotel, and it is only minutes from the main railway station. I'm booking again.
