This hotel was lovely. Staff were all very friendly, they gave the kids a puzzle each, there were sweets and fruit at the front desk, xbox, kids toys (lego, duplo etc), computer with internet. The room was lovely and clean, the train station is SO close (immediately outside the front door, underground), three stops from central station. Room would be small if you were staying for an extended time.

This is a very nice hotel. Reception was friendly and efficient. You will find treats at the desk each day, lollies, chocolate and biscuits. Very nice touch. Also in the reception area is an xbox for the kids and a computer for free internet browsing. The room was exceptionally clean with white sheets and no scabby bedspread. We didn't try breakfast as we thought €18 per person was a bit expensive even with our son being free. We ate each morning at a little cafe around the corner and never paid more than €10 all up for the three of us. The lady that owns it was absolutely wonderful. Other than the cafe there is nothing in the area in respect to restaraunts. You have to either eat at the hotel which is to expensive or go into the city. We found excellent and affordable german food at the Christmas Markets at Town Hall each night and you can't beat the atmosphere! You have the walk miles for shopping as we discovered while looking for a laudromat. This is one thing we are finding frustrating is that no hotel in the States or Europe we have stayed at offers a self serve laundry room. Only in Australia. If anyone knows of a hotel chain that offers a laundry room please let me now. We didn't use the wifi either, again too expensive. At €9 per device over 24 hours and with each of us having a device it would have been outrageous to pay €27 especially when I can go down to Starbucks and get free wifi.
Suggestion for the hotel....install a laundry room with coin operated machines and dryers and in this day and age wifi should be a standard inclusion.

Really good value, very nice hotel near (few steps) metro station not far from the centre (20minutes a walk) of Hamburg and Alster lake.
Ideal for business and for families too.
They offer excellent breakfast like in 5 stars hotels.

The only imperfection was a bit noisy if open the window.

Central location. I arrived by train and it is only 1km away - 3 stations over from the main one. 8 euros for taxi.
I arrived at 8pm or so -- the reception girl was not friendly but that does not usually bother me. She was efficient though, I was out to my room in 10 seconds I think.
The room is very, very quiet but the channels (all hotels so far in Germany are like that) are not for foreigners at all. The movies on demand are few and I could not read the prices on the screen.
The bar and restaurant are above average in service, quality, and presentation. Price is very far --- risotto and girelled chicken witha a drink for 20 euros.
Everything else approved.
Also, the hotel is near the Aussenalster lake -- great jogging there.
