“Very original, but lacking coziness”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

25 hours is one of those true design hotels. Very modern, hip, stylish and young. The staff are very friendly and professional at the same time. I loved the breakfast the area: is was really small and had a somewhat "bar around the corner" feel - definitely not what you would expect in a typical city hotel. The rooms were fitting well the overall design hotel idea but were, for my taste at least, a bit too cold and gray. I missed a cozy, comfortable feeling before going to sleep.

The location is not the best - Barhenfeld is some 30 minutes away form the city center. What is close by is Ottensen - one of the most beautiful city areas, multicultural, young, stylish and relaxed.

“Trendy Design Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

Good hotel, little over priced I thought for what it was. Location isn't great, the Sbahn is a bit of a walk through a fairly dark area. The restaurant is good if not a limited menu, german/italian fusion, you figure it out! The rooms are a good size but not for those who need a lot of privacy as the bathroom is part of the room, there is no door to lock on the toilet either just a sliding door so beware. The rooms are nicely decorated and they are design but they are beginning to show a little wear and tear. Note that there is no fridge in the room, no obvious room service (just a note telling you to call reception) and the tv is retro, cool, but very small. Ipod stereo in the room is cool but ........trying a little too hard maybe to be cool.

“Nice looking place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2009

I stayed in Hamburg for 5 days, having some training at Airbus.

The hotel really pass some modern but vintage feeling...I really enjoyed my stay. The room were comfortable and beautiful, the staff were kind and helpful and the location, while not the best, was enough for me...it has a train station near which will took you to almost anywhere.

The Hall / bar was a cool place....there were lots of people there reading and using their laptops. A cool place to meet someone.

The Breakfast kind of disappointed me. It was expensive and didn't have many options.

The only problem that i found was that there was no wi-fi at the room...only LAN cable...annoying thing in a hotel that seems so modern and trendy. Wi-fi only near the reception / hall.

“Gem close to Bahrendfeld railway station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2009

A tastefully decorated, clean, very generous sized rooms with friendly staff who speak English as well as German. Only Three blocks from Bahrenfeld station on the S1 Green Line which runs direct to the city stations and the International Airport. Close to everything when a Hamburg card is purchased.

Major shops such as Aldi, a bakery, Chinese Restaurant and ATM's are next door. We enjoyed our five night stay there and it is worth considering for the proximity to the railway station.

“Gimicky, Ikea hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2009

If you like a hotel that attempts to be modern you may like this. From my view, I found it like visiting Ikea: all gimicky and beneath the surface not that great.
On the plus side it was close from where I was going on business.
The reception is ok, but settle your bill in Euro rather than take the £ option as they have an extorniate mark-up for this facility ; better still book through expedia.
internet access is free via lan cable
Bar OK, but stop serving coffee after 11.30
No coffee making facility in room
I'd rather stay at the Gasstwerk opposite
A tip - if you want a light breakfast the deli next door does nice rolls and cakes and hot drinks at a fraction of the cost of the hotel
