We liked this hotel. It was pleasant, well-located, and worth the 92 Euro a night that we paid for a double with breakfast & tax included. We stayed a week and had no problems. The room was small with two double beds (no queen-sized bed was available), but fairly well layed out. The shower was a bit weird, set into a separate room from the main small bathroom with a second toilet. The "enclosure" for the shower was just a curtain with a drain in the common floor space. It worked fine, and the temperature was consistent.
The breakfast room was pleasant and, although there was no separate non-smoking area, was seldom smoky. Out of 7 days there was one where someone was smoking during our meal. That's pretty good odds for Germany, although since October a few smoking ordinances were just coming into force (thank goodness).
The breakfast was okay. You always had about three different kinds of sliced meat and cheese, selection of cereals, some canned fruit, yogurt, bread & rolls, orange juice and some hard-boiled eggs. This changed very little during our stay, but it was okay.
Some folks at other review sites mentioned "unsavory area and strange people". I'm guessing they were from some suburban area and don't get out much. The area was fine and the people were the usual folks walking around any major city in the world. In short, it was fine and always felt safe. I would stay here again, particularly if you appreciate good mass transit connections.
