On our car-holiday from Norway to France we needed a relaxing place to stop for a couple of nights after driving all the way from Norway (and to charge the patience-batteries for the rest of the road). We were looking for a place where the children (6 and 9 years old) could get to think about something else but the car for a couple of days :-)
The Treudelberger was perfect! I had no clue what kind of hotel this would be, except reviews from TA, which easily gave me the impression that it would be a nice place to stay.
And again - Trip Advisor is great!
The hotel is separated in two different buildings - and therefore with two different receptions.
We had booked a family-room wich are all located (with the (newer rooms?) and the suites in the Atrium building).
The room was HUGE! It was clean and very delicate, containing 2 large bedrooms (one with a little seating area and a desk), two bathrooms, both with HUGE bathtubs and one of them with a shower in addition. In bewteen of the two rooms a little "Living-room" and a tiny kitchen. Three flat-screens (one in each bedroom and one in the living-room, and with speakers to the bathroom ;-)
The rooms were cleaned everyday and the staff was very service minded, and spoke very good english.
It's also a must to mention the breakfast - VERY good and containd everything you'll probably need :-) Fruits and vegetables, eggs, bacon, all kinds of bread and youghurts, and meat and so on :-)
I would highly recommend a stay at the Treudelberger - as I am very sure I will return!
Of course, it's not located very central, if you're thinking of spending your time in the city of Hamburg, but if you're looking for relaxing days - paddling canoo, or swimming in the hotels huge pool/bubble bath - pack your bags and go ahead! A huge expensive/fancy shopping center is anyway a 7 min drive away if the urge gets to you ;-)
