Very close to the airport. You could actually walk but not sure there is a clear path.
Check in time was 3:00 but I showed up around noon. They were VERY nice to accommodate my very early arrival. The first room they took me to was VERY small with very small twin beds (at least they look small when you're used to a king).
I was on my way back to reception in about 2 minutes as I knew I would not be able to stay in this room for three days.
I had just stayed here two weeks prior for one day (5 hours of sleep) but remember the room being pretty nice.
As a Marriott gold member I should have received an automatic upgrade but none of the rooms were ready (due to my early arrival), which is perfectly understandable.
I was offered to go to the bar, restaurant or the very small and open business area while a room was readied for me.
This time they led me to the same room type I had a few weeks earlier. MUCH bigger, king size bed, and a few chairs. I immediately crashed for a few hours of sleep awaiting my colleagues arrival.
I arrived on a Sunday as we had a full day of work to do on Monday to prepare for a meeting in Lubeck on Tuesday. We had planned to meet in the business area for 8am to get started it was immediately apparent that the business area was not a business area.
It was more of a cozy social setting with two areas of 4 chairs in a circle, one in front of a fireplace. The "business" area was so branded as there was a table with a computer on it.
I went to the front desk and asked about a conference room. They sent us over to the sales manager on the other side of the hotel. They have a very nice area with small and large salons and conference rooms.
There was one room remaining that could fit about 10-12 people but it was the smallest they had.
The woman was super nice and I said I will take it without even negotiating the price. When we got to the price discussion she said it would be 132 euro from 8-5. She brought in a beamer (as they call it in Germany) known as a projector, infocus, etc.
We went back to grab our computer bags and came back about 15 minutes later. The room was set up with a bucket of water, juices, hard candy, pens, etc.
Short story already to long. We worked from 9-9 and had access to tea, coffee, sitting area etc. VERY nice.
I expected a much higher charge when I checked out on Wednesday morning but the charge was 132 euro (great value)
This staff @ the hotel is VERY helpful. No matter who was at the front desk it didn't matter everyone was friendly.
The food at the restaurant was very good but expensive and a limited menu. The breakfast of which I had Sun, Mon, Tue was 18 euro, which is steep.
After we ate at the restaurant Sun and Mon eve we HAD to get out on Tuesday.
For a few days of business this was a a great spot (however if that conference room were not available we would have struggled). That was our fault not the hotels....
I would stay again for 1-2 night stay.
