i understand the eleazar can't be blamed for that, but every night there were something goin on on the street below with noises and people shouting, making sleep impossible. otherwise average hotel with average services offered. room small but ok. fan available but no mini bar. quite close to central station.

I have stayed at Eleazar Novum, Hamburg several times. It is perfect. 1 min walk from the central station and 5 min walk and you are in the city shopping centre. The staff are friendly and the rooms very clean. I took a group there from work last Christmas for the markets and not a single moan from any of them. The breakfast is buffet style and there is hot and cold foods all of which is very nice. My only problem they are full for a group of us going this Dec and we have had to book into another hotel nearby. Cannot recommend this place enough to vistors.

The hotel is passably good and located centrally, view over a back alley possibly to be expected in a centre of town hotel. Bizarre garage system.

What really gripped me was that I wanted to cancel my room and gave two days notice. Mainly because the drive between the hotel and where I was working was intense. Drivers in Hamberg are insane. when I went to do so I was confronted by an 80% cancellation fee which is pretty outragous. I am led to believe that this is the policy across the board in Novum Hotels. Consequently I will NEVER be booking into a Novum hotel again.

Not businessman friendly

This hotel has good and bad points. I will start with the good:
staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast provided with plenty to choose from including eggs. Car parking was easy as it is under the hotel with the cost being 12Euro. The hotel is in a good location, down a small side street just off the main drag. It is no more than a 5 m inute walk to the train station, shops and restaurants. The BAD: no airconditioning, the room was so small it had a double bed hard up against the wall while only one person can stand next to the bed on the other side...no room. My husband and I could not stand at the foot of the bed together comfortably and we are not big people. The b athroom was also tiny and out of date. Based on the size of the room, I would not recommend this hotel.
