“Green and Tranquil”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2010

I stayed in this hotel twice, This is a relatively small (128 rooms) hotel that gives you the experience of a home away from home. located in the middle of a Harburg ( formerly the capital of a district by that name, now a part of Hamburg) neighborhood, this hotel dips in green, has a very pleasant and efficient (well, they are after all German) staff. In addition the rooms have real keys- and I am a big fan of keys (can't stand these plastic cards :-)

“Nice conference hotel in quite surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

I recently stayed at Lindtner for a 4-day business conference. The hotel's location in a quite suburban area just outside Hamburg makes it a perfect spot for business meetings and/or conferences as there is almost no distraction from the outside and the area is very quiet, peaceful and green. There is a beautiful woods just opposite to the hotel's main entrance - perfect place if you like jogging before breakfast.

On the other hand, if you happen to be looking for some action at night, this is not the right place to be as there are almost no bar, restaurants or entertainment spots nearby (unless you're willing to take a 30 minute drive to Hamburg city).

The hotel interior is nice and comfortable without any "extras". Such are the rooms as well. Clean, relatively spacious, with big windows letting in loads of daylight and good (although a bit small) bathrooms. I wasn't very happy with the quality of my pillow, but the mattress was o.k. One strange thing was the minibar - in my room it was built inside my closet and I had an extra key for it:)).

Breakfast was very good although quite standard and without any surprises. Lunch and dinner were o.k. too but again without any thrills.

“Very childfreindly.”

My parents celebrated their birthday in this nice hotel in Harburg. As we are from Hamburg we didn't stayed over night so I can't comment on the rooms.
The reception area is nice, modern and airy.
The reception for the party was in the lovley garden, which was nice for my daughter as she could run around freely.
The food was in one of the function rooms with access to the terrace.
The food was nice but nothing special. Staff was very nice. I was surprised how my daughter was treated. They went trough a lot og hassle getting her chips and chicken nuggets as she doesn't eat lamb and to made her a "special desert" (strwaberry ice with smarties and jelly).
They had a "rocking horse" for kids that actually move in the reception area which was the abselot highlight for my daughter.
The rest rooms were also very tidy and spacious. Overall a nice experience.

“Fantastic experience”

The stay was just great and I could recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to be in a quiet and beautiful surrounding but still pretty close to the city.
The Hotel is really fantastic to go for it and use the great Spa, having a nice dinner and enjoying the silence of the forest which is directly attached to the Hotel.
Going into the City Center of Hamburg still takes 20 minutes but is done very easily without any inconvenience.

By the way we met the Artist Vladimir Kamendy, who is the Artist in Residence at the Hotel. A very impressive Person, we had a lot fun in the evenning at the Bar with him.

“Beautiful but has its problems”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2008

I've stayed at this hotel twice on business, the first time in a suite and the second was a smaller room (think it's called Classic room). First impressions were really good, beautiful setting, stylish and really nice rooms. Reception staff were also friendly and helpful, especially when they couldn't find my reservation during my first stay (I think that's why they gave me a suite - as they had no idea what was really booked!). Breakfast was also varied and nice.

The hotel is very far from the city centre so don't stay here if you want to be central. There's also no gym although they might have a pool (not sure though).

What I didn't like about the hotel was:

1. The restaurants. There are 2 in this hotel and believe it or not, neither of them serve a vegetarian main course. I did try one of the restaurants and had a fish meal once which was really nice, but as I'm not a big fish fan I had to take a taxi to a nearby mall and eat there on my other nights! For a 5 star hotel, they didn't even offer to make me something vegetarian even though they were aware of my request. I also had a virgin daiquiri which was disgusting.

2. Nothing is written in English. I understand that the hotel's in Germany but come on - they can't expect all guests to speak German! Honestly, nothing in reception is in English and the leaflets in the rooms are all in German, except the limited room service menu which has an English translation.

3. No iron in the rooms and no irons available to do your own ironing. I found this appalling as they expect you to pay them to iron your clothes, and it's not exactly cheap either. The second time I went, I took my own travel iron!
