I stayed here with my daughter for 3 enjoyable nights. We did not have a reservation and had just arrived spontaneously from Berlin by train. The staff at reception were extremely courteous and obliging and gave us a suite upgrade at no extra charge (they were fully booked). The room was quite charming, very spacious overlooking a beautiful courtyard garden which had a lovely fountain and sculpture of 'Narcissus". The suite was beautifully presented and the huge bathroom had all the toiletries provided and in generous quantity, (soaps, towels etc).
The dining room and food/wine/service were excellent. We are vegetarians and found a wonderful choice of food (which is often not the case for vegetarians).
Potsdam is easily accessed by the local bus outside the main entrance and the grounds are vast and beautiful enough to enjoy if you just want to take a leisurely stroll.
Just one negative, the isn't a room where you can relax by the open fire with a drink in the afternoon or a library where you can sit back and read before getting ready for dinner.
A very gracious and historic hotel.
