We drove up from Switzerland - but due to bad weather and a lot of traffic we didn't get there before midnight. Even if we had a guaranteed room with a credit card deposit - we weren't sure that there would be a room for us. Everything was prepared and waiting for us when we arrived. The night receptionist was ever so service minded and check-in went smoothly. The room was really nice - not enormous but beautifully decorated and clean.

Next morning we woke up when the tourists were walking around in the gardens. The birds were chirping and from our room we heard absolutely no noise what so ever.

Breakfast was in an amazing room with historic decor. The breakfast was wholesome and really tasty. As a tea drinker I appreciated the large selection of teas.

After breakfast we visited the historic chambers - something I would recommend to everyone.

Unfortunately this stay was short - but if we are ever back in Potsdam we will definately stay here again.

It's really great to spend some nights where history was made!!

Not sure why this property is listed under B and Bs as it is hotel and conference centre.

Beautiful, historic location. The property was the location of the historic Potsdam Conference following WWII and is part of a larger set of lands used as a Summer Palace and retreat for the old German royal family.

The property is well maintained with lovely walking trails which are used by locals to run by a lake which runs through the middle of the property.

The hotel room is typical European for North American travelers -- small. It had a lovely view of the property and the bed was quite comfortable.

Breakfast was served inclusive with the room and was excellent -- standard continental plus eggs, bacon, sausage, various fresh breads and pastries etc.

Great place to get away but not handy if you want to commute to Berlin. Also, as with all higher end hotels, the menu for lunch and dinner etc was expensive.

My wife was attending a conference here and was the start of a mimi-European holiday for us. A peaceful way to start!

This was "above average" because of the location/scenery. It is a castle location with a great deal of history. Everything was clean and comfortable, staff was helpful and spoke English, food was great....overnight oatmeal is a must! By American standards, this would not be considered "luxury". However, the price is less than what a 4 star US property would be. Plus, the expectations are just different. Those who travel in Europe understand that. I recommend this hotel
