We have just returned from a wonderful 4 night break at this uniique hotel. Our room was spacious and clean, very quiet, overlooking the park. For me it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room for tea making. For coffee drinkers containers are provided on tables in hallways along with chocolate biscuits and bowls of apples for you to help yourself whenever you want, so if you are a tea drinker I would advise to take a travel kettle with you. Just liquid soap provided in bathroom so I would advise taking your own if this is not to your liking. Food is excellent ,dinner equal to the best I have ever had. Breakfast ample and well presented, bacon crispy just as I like it ! Staff charming and helpful. Our room was lovely and warm as was the dining room but the rest of the hotel could have been warmer....but it was -13outside! One negative was the sauna facility. My husband went to reception at 6pm enquiring about having a sauna and was told it was not available until 7pm. He went back at 7 only to be told it would take an hour to warm up! We had booked dinner for 8 so he never got his sauna . The area around the hotel is beautiful parkland made even more so because of the snow we had all the time we were there. Transport into Potsdam is easy by bus, the stop is to the left of the hotel drive. Taxi costs to the main railway station varies depending on route driver takes (quick or scenic) anything from between 9 and 12 euros. Potsdam is a lovely friendly city and we will definitely be returning and stay at the same hotel but next time when it is a little warmer.
