We spent a weekend in this hotel, the place is very quiet and located in the center of the city. You can easily walk to the main street with shops and restaurants. It is also close to parks and some famous castles.

The hotel is clean, rooms are confortable and people are nice. There is a very good breakfast buffet and dinner is also excellent.

I would recommend this hotel to spend a fews days and discover the charms of this beautiful city

The Hotel am Jagertor (recent name change, now part of the "Romantik" hotels) is set in Potsdam, equidistant from the park containing the grand estates of the Prussian rulers and the central shopping district. Many close in restaurants are available as well as the hotel's excellent breakfast buffet. We did not have dinner int he restaurant, however based upon breakfast it would be a good bet if you wanted to stay in for the evening.

Within a couple kilometers of the Hauptbahnhof and 400 meters from the 92 and 96 tram lines or a short taxi ride. Potsdam itself is an easy walk for those in the walking mode and the public transport near the hotel makes getting around easy.

The hotel rooms are newly done over and in fine shape and very comfortable, as are the beds. The bathroom has a nice stand-up shower, not a tub with a shower wand and the general amenities fill the bill.

Overall you'd be well off in this hotel.

The breakfast (included in my package - price really ok) is the best thing: a good variety with a good quality. The room was nice, not really fantastic, but ok.
The staff was kind and available.
The location is good, maybe a little bit far from Potsdam' station.

We had a perfect stay of 6 nights at a '3 for 2' rate - which I negotiated down to booking.com rates by booking d1rect with the hotel . OK, so it was a room onto the street, but with double glazing and fully functioing air con no disturbances.

Breakfast is amazing with all options, but evening meals expensive - much better value in several places nearby. Only 1 minor drawback - as with all continental hotels, no hot drinks facility in the rooms.
