We stayed here one night before boarding our river boat cruise. We chose it because of the location --close to the railroad station and the river boat docks. You can walk across the bridge and the hotel is on the left side. We made the mistake of walking on the right side and due to a lot of construction, we had to walk all the way around this large square, cross two streets before reaching the hotel. The construction seemed to be going on for a long time and they didn't seem to be done too soon either. Perhaps the left side of the bridge would have been easier once we got across from the train station, which at the time didn't seem like an easy feat to accomplish.
The hotel was very nice and our room was nice. As Accor members, we received a good price which included breakfast. The breakfast was good and adequate. There weren't any restaurants around for dinner except at the hotel. We had a hike into the main part of the city where we had lunch. It was a pleasant day and the scenery was interesting. We found a farmer's market next to the main church and bought food from the local deli-butcher shop to take back for dinner. It was very good and reasonable.
Potsdam is a very pretty place on the Havel river with many castles to visit and see -- highly recommend a day trip out of Berlin by train from the Zoogarten station to Potsdam.
The hotel was very nice and we had a good bed, nice bathroom and there was room service if we wanted. I did go down to the bar and retrieved two beers to go with our dinner that we had purchased --price: $7.50. This was high for German beer but I guess you pay for the convenience. The hotel's location is pretty on the river and we had a room looking out at this sight. There is a nice walk along the river behind the hotel that I highly recommend. There are also boat trips from a store below the hotel on the river.
