“lovely hotel if you're a shopaholic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

went to bremen to visit the fair, amazing time at fair. took us 20 mins on tram into city centre. Hotel next to Waterfront shopping centre. checked in, no problems. we were 3 adullts and a 4 year old and they had put 2 single beds into a room which also had a double bed, but there was still plenty of room.
breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and kept hot which is not always the case with a buffet. the drinks were a little pricey but for a 4 star you would expect this.
If you fancy a nice drink (cheap) in a quiet bar go 2 stops on the tram to Gropelingen and find Ivan's Bierfass. good friendly bar with great beer.

“Good hotel though too far out of the city for most people”

We travelled here by car with bicycles attached which meant that we could cycle into the city centre. This is approximately 6.5 kilometres and takes 15-25 minutes depending on your effort level! There is a cycle track by the side of the road for the entire route into town so you don't need to worry about the traffic. There is also a regular tram to the city but it leaves a few hundred metres from the hotel (you can put your bike on the tram if you are feeling really lazy!)

Staff are very polite and helpful. Contrary to one of the other reviewers, we found the room a little small, and the bed quite narrow for two. The bed also creaked a bit, but was comfortable. The room was clean and very quiet. There was no noise at all from the car park below. The cleaners made some noise in the corridor each morning though far less than in most hotels. Breakfast was pretty standard with a good range of hot food, bread and cold meats. Some pastries and cakes were available too.

A couple of hundred metres from the hotel is a large shopping complex which is worth a look round. There is a Starbucks coffee shop here which is useful if you need internet access. (Note that as of the date of the review WiFi internet access is not free in the hotel).

There is a sauna and small exercise area behind reception which is pleasant and doesn't get a lot of use. It is available free to all guests from 16.00 hrs. There is a small area with sunbeds outside the sauna area.

The river Weser is a hundred metres from the hotel, though much of the space along the banks is taken up by factories and heavy industry.

Parking at the hotel is free.

“Loved the space age atmosphere for a relaxing night stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2009

Stayed here on way back from Poland and after problem finding it with our German SATNAV- postcode was too wide had an enjoyable stay. The Space centre has closed now but the hotel was designed to serve it so is colourful and quirky in design and has fun lifts with sparkly stars and moons that kids would ride in all day. Room was clean and bright and looked out over the river with a small balcony, good breakfast and we enjoyed our evening meal. The bar has a large screen for the footy (well this is Germany) enjoyed by my partner, but I felt welcome there too. The young and friendly staff were excited that a Primark was due to open in Spring 2009 so it is probably heaving as a man park by now!

“Trying to be hip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2008

This hotel is out of the city centre, in a new mall area on the banks of the river. There is public transport to the centre nearby.

The hotel is modern, or trying to be - in my eye the design doesn't come together. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable but the furniture looks as if its sourced from IKEA (not always bad, but....)

The staff are friendly and professional and there are some nice touches, e.g. free, limited mini-bar.

Unfortunately, I was unable to try the restaurant so not comment there.

If the location is not a problem, then I would certainly recommend this hotel as good value for money.
