We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The location is fantastic. Across the road from the central railway station with easy access to trams, busses and trains. Getting around Bremen (or German) is very easy from this location.

The other part of the location is the noise from the trams and the central in general. Didn't bother us after the first night but if you're a light sleeper the noise can cause problems. Our room was in top floor (7) and facing the tram stops so room location can affect the level of the noise.

Reception was open 24h a day and service was excellent. Breakfast was good and there's plenty to choose from. Very good hotel in this price range. Recommended.

The hotel staff and management are stupid. This hotel operates at a level that everything is rightly below your expectation. You walk into the room and find out No Soap, No tooth brush, No tooth paste, No shaver, No comb, NOTHING. Because there has no documents on the service provided including TV stations available, you do not even know whether you should dial o or 9 for external line and who you should talk to in order to get one more toilet paper. When you want to write down a phone number of your friend so that you can catch them for beer, you cannot even find a piece of paper and pen or pencil. I had purchased the Wifi service as I must maintain contact with my tech team. But it sucks, the staff asked me to talk to M3Connect while the latter insists that there is no problem for their service. I cannot even find Wifi M3Connect signals in the lobby. Eventually, I had to run to the next doort, Best Western, for help. Staff at BW were more than happy to assist. So I bought a cocktail and worked 3 hours in their bar so that all my coding stuff were safely back to our server. The computer at Star Inn, the ONLY one available for residents to use, was down for 4 days, MAN, no one fixed it for 4 days. When I checked out, the silly girl asked me to pay 29Euro, but even without telling me what these charges are. I insisted to see the details. It turmed out that there was a deposit charge of 15Euro for the power converter which should be waived. The room is not clean. I found long hairs from someone on my bed and on the toilet floor. The shower place is also very small even for an Asian, you hardly can turn around. Rooms facing the street are noisy, trams, buses, and people shouting until midnight and then starting again from early morning. Breakfast is far expensive than what it actually offers. Overall, its service sucks. You feel cold when you see people saying sorry like the Wifi down but they are actually indifferent to what you need or suffer. The only thing pos seems to be its location which is close to the main train station. That's it! But, remind you there are many other choices. If you do not mind to pay 10Euro more, move to the next door.

We were on our honeymoon for this trip...we took overseas delivery of a Volvo and were on an "unscripted" road trip around Europe...the only planned stops of the trip was Sweden to get the car and Paris, where we would drop it off. We were driving and stopping where we wanted. Originally we were thinking Hamburg would be a good stopping place, but we didn't see anything that looked "charming" about the city to stop. We headed on down the road towards Bremen. It looked much more charming and "manageable" to explore for the one night we would stay.

We found Star Inn in the center of town and did not pre-book the hotel...our rate for a spacious double room was great! Parking is extra, but still very reasonable. The view from our window was nothing great, but both the room and bathroom were spacious. The staff was very helpful with sending us to where the "nightlife" would be.

One caveat, the location would be fantastic for someone arriving/traveling by train...it was great that they having parking available, but the "maneuvering" to get to it is tricky. Granted, we were used to "US" standards for space and our car was an SUV (as compared to the tiny compacts that most Europeans would drive). You have to drive onto an elevator to reach the parking...our SUV did fit, but it was hard to maneuver into the elevator and then to make the turns necessary to fit in the space.
