We stayed here for 3 nights in november 2010 and were quite happy with the hotel/hostel. It's in an excellent location, right next to a metro stop which takes you to alexander platz (2 stops) and beyond, there's also lots of places to eat and drink nearby. The staff were helpful and friendly and the 24 hour reception has great 1 euro muffins! and cheap drinks. Our room was quite large with an extra bunk bed in it. The beds were quite comfy too but horrendous lumpy, old pillows!! our one big gripe, time to get new ones meininger! The shower was fine, though the 'timer' is a bit annoying and probably unnecessary. There are all the usual facilities; kitchen, internet, games room etc which we didn't use so i can't comment on those. Overall, I'd stay here again as the location is so convenient but this is a no-frills place and not for anyone expecting luxury. we got an excellent deal though (turned out to be a mistake on their part but they honoured it) and only paid 8 euros per night! maybe if we'd paid more we would have been a bit more picky...

I was glad that I had to stay here only one night... First the good things: The reception area and the breakfast room look very stylish, the staff is young and super-friendly, the breakfast ist fine. BUT: The photos on the website promised something that the rooms couldn't live up to. Ugly bunk beds, a super-tough, super-thin mattress, just one towel that had the size of a handkerchief, smelly blankets and pillows... I felt like 16 again - but not in a good way. This place is called hostel & hotel - "But where's the hotel part?" is what I asked myself when I couldn't fall asleep because of the noise that got through the paperthin walls. For kids on a school trip this is an okay place - but on my next trip to Berlin I rather pay a few Euros more then to stay here again.

Hotel was overall a positive surprise. Staff was frinedly, location was quite nice and price ok. We had really nice view from our window. Room was spacious and fresh. Breakfast cost extra but was worth the money. I missed a little bit hairdryer and fridge. One night I woke up because some teenagers were screaming at the hall but luckily they stopped...

if you look for a hotel with price of a hostel, this is perfect. there was this group of kids with teacher (school trip or something), so you notice that is the kind of hotel (sorry, no hostel at all) you could take you mom or your kids there. Perfectly clean rooms, magnet key, big and fancy elevators, breakfast not included but theres a nice and cheap coffee just crossing the street. towels and hairdrier included, just leave a deposit.

but if you want to party, sorry, no good. kitchen is so not a meeting point (like everywhere's hostel kitchens) and theres no such thing as a backpacker atmosphere, its just feels like a 3-star-hotel as i said before. location is fine, not wonderful but a u-bahn station (Senefelderplatz) is just in front of the reception. also there's a street behind the hostel with great restaurants and bars, i recommend the one with beach sand on the floor, forgot the name.

worst thing: internet not free and only 4 computers.
