The location is great - 5 mins from the Savingyplatz S-bahn station in Charlottenburg which is full of private galleries, cafes and independent shops probably suitable for couples wanting to chill out and noodle around. The main commercial shopping street of the area, Kurfurstendam Str. (spelling?) is 5 mins the other way. The pension occupies half a floor of a beautiful old house and the entrance is stunning. It promises much if you like turn of the century historical buildings. The pension itself, however, is pretty basic which is a shame as it could be really lovely. We had a room overlooking the main road (which was surprisingly quiet) and right next to the breakfast room (which made us feel a bit exposed but it was ok). The room was a good size, light, clean and the bed was comfortable although it was two beds pushed together rather than a double (fine if you want your own space)! The toilet was smelly when we arrived but the owner got it fixed immediately when we went out and we had no other problems during the stay. We booked the generous breakfast each day which for €5 each was really good value (yoghurt, ham, eggs, cheese and fruit). The owner and her husband were lovely and helpful and we enjoyed talking to them. It was good value but with some updating could be great.
