The welcome was great, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms not so great. I expected them to be small, after all you know it's on a boat before you arrive, but it looked altogether tired. Not so bad if it was cheap, but it wasn't really that cheap compared to local hotels.

I had this hostel bookmarked in my favourites for some time but always been put off by the idea of staying in a hostel. this time I decided to go for it for somewhere different to stay!
The boat is conveniently located 5 minutes walk from Warschauer Str station, moored up behind the Eastside Gallery and near the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge. I'd visited this area a few years ago and it seemed a bit of a wasteland, not the case any more! It was a vibrant and lively area, with shops and restaurants nearby open all through the night.
We were given a warm greeting on arrival, given a map and suggestions of where to visit (we've been to Berlin several times before but they were happy to point out other attractions off the beaten path)
We were lucky to get a waterside room :-) yes, it is basic (it is a hostel, not a hotel after all!) but the room was clean and more spacious than we were expecting. The biggest bonus was the novelty of being mere inches away from the waterline!
on the upper deck was a lovely lounge bar with delicious cocktails. We even decided not to go out on our first night - who needs to find a bar, when you're staying on one with a gorgeous waterside view!
The breakfast was reasonably priced and adequate. Nothing too fancy but enough to keep you going for the day.
We were very sad to finally check out of this hostel, even returning for a quick final coffee in the lounge bar before we had to head off for our flight home! Will definately be back to stay here!

What an interesting place to stay. My wife and I were very pleased with our stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location on the river was beautiful, particularly the view from the deck. I'd highly recommend it.

That said, keep in mind that the place is a hostel. Its a very reasonable price for a major city. The rooms are not delux or large. But the place is well maintained and clean and really interesting. We even stayed surprisingly warm for a visit in February.

It is certainly a good place to stay if you don't get sea sick, you have to pay extra for towels and sheets, and for 5 euros you can have breakfast. The view was amazing from the boat is amazing, specially at night.
We spend one night with my husband at this hostel....and the restaurant at the boat is closed on Mondays, thankfully there are good restaurants close by.
