“Honest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

This Hotel is very "Basic" and located near shops and restaurants. The Metro station is close to the Hotel and it's a plus. Rooms are regular, not too big, not to small, bathroom ok, reasonably clean. There are two entrances, the main one (where you can find the reception) and a second a few meters away. The personnel is not very professional but on the other hand it's very easy going so no problems.
If you're looking for a cheap Hotel in Berlin i would definitely suggest this one. Average price for a double room is €40 and the wi-fi will cost you 5 euros more, which is acceptable.

“low budget, for one night only”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

Prices-VERY low, we paid around EUR75 for a family room.
Location-a 5 minute walk from Adenauer pl underground station(U7), convinient to those who wish to take public transport to Shonefeld airport (you just take underground to the last station-Rudow U7 and interchange for a shuttle bus to the airport).
Rooms-very modest, but clean. Do not expect hairdryer\kettle\shower cap.
The building itself is over 100 years and this gives certain charm to the hotel (elevator is over 100 years, window handles are about the same age, etc)
Food-nice, my kids loved the breakfast.
Staff-very friendly and helpful, mostly Russian.
Ideal for one night budget sleepover.

“Location is rather good for shopping, that is it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

For the low price you pay (EUR 40/single room) it is a bearable experience.

LOCATION - I really do not think that the location is good for exploring the rest of the city. The closest subway station is on the line, from which you have to change to get anywhere central and it takes time. For me it didn't work well. Also mind that the cheapest end of shops on Kurfurstendamm and KaDeWe is some 20-30 minutes away by foot from the hotel and you cannot go by subway there from your station. The surrounding area though is GREAT - very neat living district, Valentino and Gucci shops. Nice. Bus stop to Tegel airport is around the corner and it is 20 minutes by bus. Really comfortable.

HOTEL - the hotel is a little shabby, my room was very small and very plain. The slamming of the entrance door on the floor has woken me up during the night several times. BUT breakfast is very good for the hotel level.

I would advise to search for a hotel closer to the middle of Kurfurstendamm (next to K-damm subway station)

“Good value for money”

I spent a couple of days in this hotel at the end of February/beginning of March. The hotel location is just perfect - in the closest vicinity of a bus and metro station, what is the most important indeed, not far away from the Tegel airport, in a quiet street just next to the famous Kudamm. There is a non-stop shop very close to the hotel (on your way from the metro to the hotel), where you can buy drinks etc., as there is no mini-bar in the hotel room. The hotel is situated in a nice old residential building. There is a small reception area, which works only until 11 p.m., so the staff is not available all the time. The breakfast was very good. We had to pass through a small backyard to reach our room, which was located in a corridor with a couple of other rooms, but we were alone in that area. Our room was pretty small and very basic, equipped only with two beds, a wardrobe with not too many hangers, a tiny table, a tiny TV-set, nothing in addition, not even a chair. But the room was very clean and warm enough. The bathroom, on the other hand, was pretty large wtih the brand new equipment and also very warm. They were certainly not saving on heating, which was on all the time, even while we were out the whole day. Even tough the room was generally clean and visited by a cleaner every morning, it was a funny thing that there still was a price label on the shower-cabin door, the cleaner had obviously never bothered to remove it.
The staff were very nice and really helpful with everything - with providing maps, giving directions to the city sightseeings, organising early breakfast etc.
There is no hairdryer in the room, but may be obtained from the reception-desk.
We booked the hotel through the easytobook, the price was excellent realy.
I would agree with other reviewers - the hotel will suit you perfectly well, if you don't look for luxury and don't plan to spend too long time in the room. I would certainly recommend the hotel to my friends and would return again.

“Quiet, slightly shabby, comfortable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

My 17 y/o daughter and I (52 y/o male) travelled to Berlin for a 3 night break. We booked the Arta Lenz just 3 days before we were to arrive. We booked because it was available for the dates, within our budget and got reasonable reviews. Breakfast is also provided within the cost. The hotel is in a quiet street off the K-damm at the west end, close to Adenaurplatz U-bahn. The receptionist was polite and friendly. I offered a Visa card to pay the invoice and he asked if I could pay in cash. I couldn't and he accepted the visa card with grace. The twin room at the back 3rd floor was rather careworn but perfectly clean. The light faun curtains let in much of the morning light, but the shower room was clean and the beds comfortable. No tea / coffee in the room and the TV picture was poor. Breakfast is standard fare german.Cereal, Ham, boiled eggs, cheese, yoghurt, rolls, some fruit etc.
Reception is 24 hour. Most staff appeared to be Russian.
Apart from the fellow guests who thoughtlessly speak loudly and slam doors etc at 06.00, the hotel was pleasantly quiet day and night. We loved the old lift.
