We arrived at Pension Kima around 9pm, took the charming, yet tiny elevator to the reception floor and were kindly greeted. Check in was quick and minimal. The man at the reception (forgot his name, but he was super friendly and very cute!) gave us some tips for where we could grab late night dinner in the area. The room was very clean and spacious for the price (I believe around 70 euros). Beds were comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was varied and delicious- breads, meats, cheeses, juices, tomatoes, pickles! Check out was just as easy as check in. Highly recommend- was so pleasantly surprised by our treatment at Pension Kima! Oh, and it is in such a wonderful location- shops and shopping mile right outside your door!

The Hotel Kima is located in a very nice section of West Berlin. For instance Louis Vuitton is less than a block away. However, and more important than Louis Vuitton, is that you can conveniently catch the bus or the train and quickly be anywhere in Berlin. If you walk a block or two west on Kurfurstendamm there is a bus stop that includes a ticket machine so you can purchase your ticket before getting on the bus. Also, the Savignyplatz S-bahn is only a 10 minute walk.

The hotel itself was only average, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. We also found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. On our way out of the hotel our first morning in Berlin we stopped by reception to ask a few questions and the person working that morning was great.

Large room, very clean, basic German breakfast, but great location, just off the Ku'dam. Easy bus connection to Tegel airport. Best part was the price.

I was very happy with my choice of hotel for my first visit to Berlin . It was located just off the main K'damm shopping street with a metro station and bus stop very close by. The man on reception was extremely helpful on arrival with provision of a sightseeing map and advice on all the places I should try to see.
Breakfast was good for the price - plenty of choice of meats, cheese, bread,cereal, fruit juices and tea/coffee.
I was travelling alone and felt safe in the area and hotel even when arriving back quite late at night.
There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby including a 'subway' - excellent for that late night coffee(!), and a small supermarket a few streets away.
There was a cold drinks vending machine in the reception too.

The only negative points were that smoking was allowed in the reception area and in a small area outside of the breakfast room but as one who quite dislikes cigarette smoke it in no way spoilt my stay and I would be happy to stay there again - EXCELLENT value for money.
