“Amazing, the best ever”

The hotel is in amazing location (family run), 2 mins walk from the biggest shooping street in Berlin, the staff are so friendly and always smiling, very knowledgable about whatever you need, rooms so beautiful, very clean, comfortable to stay in,they have an open buffet breakfast which was simply FANTASTIC, with fresh baked bread,cakes...., very clean bathroom and shower, nice view, you get more value for your money than expected, a true gem, my friend advised me to stay there, and I can see why she goes there 3 times a year, I know I will!
Oh, and I got free internet access my entire stay, which was SUPER COOL!

“Berliners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2011

Real value for money hotel with the most helpful staff on hand. The rooms are spread over two floors with the 2,3 and 4 bed rooms being the best value for money and giving plenty of space . Our room had a large wardrobe, comfy beds and a sitting area. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The hotel was situated in a quiet area near to the boutiques and underground stations. Reception were on hand to give advice on travel and eateries in the area. In terms of what do do in Berlin , the top recommendations would be the Berlin Wall, Holocaust Memoral, Berliner Dom, Reichstag, Tv Tower - a good starting point would be a bus tour to help get your bearings. If time permits a visit to Potsdam , half hour away , is well worth it.

“Very average B&B inn at a good location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

The location of the hotel is very good because it is at walking distance from the shopping district and restaurants. Public and touristic transportation stops are also nearby. The personnel was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was good.
However, on the downside we found that there is no 24 hours presence at the reception, which limits the arrival and departure. Due to our late arrival, we had to get the keys from an adjacent restaurant where they had no idea there was a hotel parking garage which we preordered and paid for. This also forced us to carry along the room keys with the heavy key holder, every time we planned to get back to the hotel late. On the evening before our early leave, we wanted to checkout but the reception closed earlier than usual (??) So we could not pay cash as we intended to and eventually had to bear extra exchange fee. We were also charged for a breakfast we did not have.
The entrance and stairway of the hotel were always dirty and neglected. The elevator stops at middle floors so one has to carry the suitcases up or down half a floor. This was quite inconvenient for us.
The rooms are spacious but with old furniture and tiny TV sets. There are not enough wardrobes for cloths. In the two rooms which we occupied we were welcomed by a very unpleasant smell from the lavatory which remained throughout our entire stay. This indicated that no proper detergents have been used. Heating facility in the bathroom would make it more pleasant to take a shower (especially during our winter stay). There are no ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs to be placed on the doors so the cleaning personnel occasionally barged into the room when it was not convenient. Each time this happened we discovered upon return that we did not get clean towels and had to address the reception. The hotel offers Internet access but there is VERY limited bandwidth.

Dear guest! First of all we like to thank you that you have been our guests and that you took your time to write your personal opinion of your stay in our house. I would like to comment some of the mentioned points. Our reception closes at 10pm, but all our guests can pick up their keys in the restaurant until 4am.Even if a guest would arrive later we would have a solution for that.
Along with the room keys every guest who reserved a parking spot in our garage gets a remote control for the gate as well as a detailed description of the way to the garage and the hotel room. (the garage is only 20m away). The typical hotel key holder could have been removed easily.
The entrance and the staircase have been renovated only a couple of month ago, but it is really difficult to keep the hotel clean in winter, especially when there is nothing but mut outside.
As I told you already there was an emergency that is why the reception was closed and the breakfast has been refunded- it was on your bill because we did not know about your early departure. We can only apologize for the inconveniences may caused during your stay, but I wish our guests would let us know what went wrong before they leave. Daniel Zielke, Hotel Seifert
