Believe it or not.
I just spent 60 Euro for 4 nights from Jan.15th to 19th 2007!
For a 18 sqm large room!
Double bed.
Breakfast was included.
Clean and central.
And all this for only 15 Euro the night!!!

Of course you can not aspect a 5-Star service for this little money! But I was NOT disappointed about the most important thing: Everything was very clean! You had your own privacy, but with a private touch! The entire staff made me feel very welcome all time.
The area seemed very safe even at night, and the hotel was just a short distance from the major attractions.

I absolutely cannot wait to return!

I don´t have idea who could say this hotel is good, probably the owner of the hotel was who posted good commentaries, because I don´t think anyone could say such thing. First think for you to know is this place is FAR from anywhere. You need to do at least 3 transfers by METRO and take a BUS or walk for 15 min from the closest metro station. If you are gay don't think this hotel is close to the gay area because it will take for you AT LEAST 1 HOUR to get the gay area or the center. By other hand the service is HORRIBLE!!. We stayed there for 3 nights and none cleaned our bedroom and we had to use the same towels the whole time. There's only one beathroom for all the bedrooms and none cleaned it during our stay. We didn't see to anyone at that hotel for the entire time we stayed there because the owner (a chinese guy) lives in the other building and just show up for giving you the keys at your arrive. Breakfast is the worst one I have ever seen in a hotel or hostal. (we couln't even have it) . I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO GO TO THIS HOTEL BECAUSE YOUR STAY AT BERLIN WILL BE HORRIBLE!. I recommend to book at one of the many hotels and cheap hostals you can find right in the gay area and which we saw during our trip.

Gaybed was Sparse and Minimal, but clean. No napkins or paper towels in the Kitchen...forced to use Toilet Paper to wipe our mouths. Milk almost down to the last drop (part of the "free breakfast")...pity the poor lads who came in the Kitchen after us. Breakfast was cereal, Kraft cheese (single slice American in plastic), American white bread, milk and coffee. That's it. Took 1 day to get any towels, so no shower after our arrival. No help from the Owners because they were upset we never contacted them with our arrival time. After explaining to them their Web Site was confusing and we couldn't find an Email address, they copped an attitude. That was it with our relationship with them. They gave us a brief (like 3 minute) overview of Berlin and we were on our own. Oh yeah...they don't live in the House...they live down the Block and just unlock an apartment with a bunch of bedrooms and one bath. Then they disappear and you have no way of contacting them. The bath has a Face Cloth on a hook as the Common Towel for all guests to dry with after washing up. I would not recommend staying in this out-of-the-way place as there are many more convenient and reasonably priced places right in the Gay District.

My partner and I stayed here in the middle of Sept 04 and had a great stay. The host was really friendly and had a terrific dry sense of humour. The room was huge and nicely decorated in an Ikea sort of way. The room rates are very cheap (especially by gay accommodation standards).
Our only gripe is that it was out in the 'burbs and you had to catch public transport to get anywhere in Berlin (but Berlin public transport was great - it keeps going after midnight for all you night owls - and it can drop you right outside the front door). I think the location is the only thing that is preventing me giving this place a 5 star rating!
Overall - definately recommended - I would stay there in a flash again and it was most memorable.
