spent 3 nights there in a business trip just before xmass, but with my wife who is interested in the berlin monuments.
as such, i believe it was an excellent and budget-wise choice: the interior is nice, rooms well design-like equipped, and - especially - the staff is extremely attentive but not intrusive which is making the stay a very pleasant experience. location is just brilliant - walking distance to potstdammer, musem insel, topografie des terrors, etc.
breakfast and internet are overpriced (i never understood why in germany, wifi in rooms is not part of the service), but there is plenty places around where you can eat cheap and connect for free. for a dinner, the choice and quality of meals in the hotel restaurant is what you would expect - not cheap, but very tasty.

Spent 4 nights here in mid December. The exterior is not very exciting but upon entering you will find a very comfortable and welcoming hotel with extremely friendly and efficient staff. The bedroom was very well appointed if a little in need of bathroom tiling repairs. We were at the back of the hotel and there was no noise whatsoever. Breakfast was quite a feast after which we were setup for the day. The location is great, right beside the Anhalter Bahnhof and from there you can get to anywhere in Berlin. Also it's within walking distance of Potsdamer Platz. Will definitely return when we next visit Berlin.

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few time for work, and also privately over weekend. We even booked our conference here, so I know my opinion reflect 25 other as well. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are great, and whole. The meeting rooms where best so far (survey confirmed it completely) . Breakfast and food is also very good, but a bit to go to excellent. Network connections was the main pain item. It is expensive and does not really work that well.

For my own impression: Location is great. I sometimes get annoyed that they don't fry the bacon properly, but then again it is till better then average. The staff is always very friendly, but sometimes the will is a bit higher then the ability. Great evening cocktails after a hard day at work.

My favourite hotel in Berlin that I have been faithful to since my first visit sometime in 2005. On a couple of recent trips to Berlin I was booked into hotels other than the Movenpick that had more stars but definitely less soul and they just made me want to return to the Movenpick.

I originally chose Movenpick for history: located in a well preserved industrial building where modern amenities have been successfully integrated into an old brick factory, complete with pieces of machinery thrown about. Then I realised how laid back, discreet, comfortable and convenient it was and kept returning ever since. I love the design, the mix of old building with very modern yet not aggressive furniture and styling. It is in a great location: historical yet central, buiness yet both lively and quiet, with convenient connections and lots of history all around.

There are Berlin hotels with bigger rooms, better prices, more centrally located, with more staff... but Movenpick still comes out as a great place.
