A very crowded and noisy street from one side of the hotel, and a railway station from another. VERY NOISY ALL THE TIME!!!
Rooms are just boxes. Clean but yet like in jail.

We booked our hotel through Arke travel agency. They booked as hotel, but it is just very bad hostel. The rooms were not ready, than we changed the room, again rooms were not ready. There were no one from the housekeeping, so we had to made our rooms ourself.
The rooms were very dirty, curtains were broken, windows was broken in the room. So whole night very noisy and lots of light from outside. Beds were very bad.
No place for the families.
The only positive point, nice helpfull people at the reception but they could not do anything.
I was in the hostel in one of the private rooms they offered in some kind of hope that it would be a nice experience considering the price. No it wasn't,,, the room appereance was good but the smells was not very good and the bathroom smell even worse.
The Staff sometimes was friendly, sometimes not, it depends if you are lucky at the day.
But above all the reason that I don't recommend this hostel to anybody is that the room is so cold even turning on the heater at the maximum and the window only had one glass instead of two as we see in all other hotels in Germany to protect from winter.
So i stayed at this hostel with my classmates. Me and a friend got a two single bed room.
There where a lot of noice from the trains which made it a little hard to sleep all night. The breakfast was good and the shower was very god, just like new. Actually the best thing about the room was the bathroom. The room was clean and i would stay there again on a trip with a school.
Chose the hostel/hotel from Late Rooms for 10 people (2 rooms of 5) cost was twenty pounds each per night. Excellent hotel, location was exceptionally good just off the Kurdamm. Breakfast basic continental but cheap and plentiful. Easy access to everywhere from the Zoo station which is only metres away. Area is a little downbeat but excellent bar underneath run by an ex German Football international. Probably not the place to take someone for a romantic trip abroad but for Friends who want a cheap place to stay superb.
For those who have complaints consider the price.
