Berolina has a great location, just outside an S-bahn station and about twenty minutes walk from the main bus station. Still it was very quiet there and we couldn't hear the trains at all. However, we could hear our neighbours coming in and out as the walls are almost paper thin. We stayed on the $th floor and as there was no elevator I can't imagine climbing the stairs with any larger suitcase. There is one women's toilet and two showers for the whole floor, it was ok as we were not staying during the season. Also, there was a strange smell in our room. On the other hand, if you are travelling on budget, this is a great choice for you.

After reading a few of the reviews which mentioned noise at this hotel/hostel, we were a little worried about whether we would be able to sleep. However, despite being just across the road from a train station, our twin room on the third floor was quiet and clean. The windows had double glazing (which must have helped) and there didn't seem to be many people staying on our floor as I never saw anyone in the communal bathroom. The Wifi was too weak to use on the third floor, but worked well near the reception and in the breakfast room. Our room did get rather hot the four days we were there due to the warm weather at the time, but the hostel had provided a fan in our room which helped. The room also included a basin with hot and cold water, which surprised me for a hostel. The S-bahn trains into the centre run frequently past this stop (about every 5 minutes during the day) and the trip to Alexanderplatz was around 20 minutes, so not too bad. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the Underground and S-bahn trains run all night on Fridays and Saturdays - very handy!

I have just come back from a 3 night stay at this hotel, which is basically a hostel. I have never stayed in a place like it before and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean (although the bin stank even when empty!), the communal showers/toilet/sinks were cleaned regularly and I didn't have to queue at any time. The location was great, right opposite an S-bahn station and round the corner from the U-bahn. It was very easy to reach the airport and the major sights from the hotel. Slight downsides were the ridiculously tiny towels (although reception provided bigger ones if asked) and the slightly seedy location (lots of strip clubs and topless dance bars!). Having read the other reviews, I have to say that we had no problem with noise, although I think the hotel was quite empty.

The shower was with sensors what makes it almost impossible to shower normally and the floor of bathroom was always dirty.
There is a room next to reception where u can leave ur luggage.
