A great base for exploring Mitte and surrounding districts. A friendly, pleasant and efficient hotel.

Checked in at the NH Berlin Mitte Hotel. The first room they gave us smelled of smoke, but they quickly corrected the situation and gave us another room. The hotel has an excellent location. We could have taken the underground from TEGEL airport very easily.Next morning we had breakfast at the hotel . A pricey but awesome buffet. We did not need lunch.

Booked this hotel thru a local travel agency in Spain. We wanted a hotel right in the centre of Berlin and that was what we got. Perfectly situated 500 mtrs from Checkpoint Charlie, 50 meters from Freidrich Strasse and a 15 min walk to the Unter den Linden , the Reichstag, Brandenberg gate, Alexander Platz and Potzdammer Platz. Sixteen Kms from Tegel airport 20 euro taxi fare. The nearest U Bahn station 100 mtrs which is great for exploring Berlin for only 6.50 euros for an all day ticket. The Hotel its self is modern, our double room was clean and comfortable, the only neg was that the lighting was a bit dim. Staff very helpfull and polite. Did,nt use the restaurant as we enjoy eating out. Breakfast was quoted at 21 euros which is very expensive

4 star modern hotel for euro 65 per night off the Internet, but....

Euro 21 for breakfast, euro 15 to borrow power adapters, more euro for Internet outside of 30 minutes in the lobby.

Service generally cold, except the guy at the information counter. No clocks in the room.

Watching the near empty breakfast room as we left the hotel for a bakery breakfast, I wondered whether their business model is flawed.
