Mercure is not my normal choice when travelling on Business but this hotel was just a short walk from my meeting so it made sense. What a good choice it turned out to be!!
On arrival the reception team were very courteous and friendly. I booked a Superior Room and was provided with what in Europe was really a Suite. Seperate WC and shower rooms (no bath), large bedroom area that led into a seperate 'lounge/dressing room'. In the middle of the areas was a large desk which had a swivelling flat screen TV so it could be watched from either the Bed or the sofa. A coffee machine and mini bar built into the desk. Free WiFi is included with this room selection which was fast and easy to access.
The hotel has a small Fitness room with a couple of machines and a nice Sauna area. Unusually the Sauna is available 24 hours a day. Be aware that this is a typical German sauna so FKK rules apply but great to be able to use the facility at midnight. A really nice touch is that on Tuesdays and Wednesdays the hotel provides complementary Massages if you book with Reception in the morning. It is only 20 minutes but a great service.
The hotel does not have a 'restaurant' but does provide a range of Bar Meals at very resonable prices. 3 courses such as Soup, a Pasta Dish and Apple Strudel with a beer is about 20 Euro. There is a choice of about 6 main courses. This was really great as when I stayed the temperature was very cold and walking to eat was not what I wanted.
Location is very close to the Check Point Charlie crossing, just a 2 minute walk and the hotel is a 20 minute taxi ride from Tegal Airport, again about 20 Euro. So all in all great service, good food, ability to relax in the sauna, comfortable bed in a good sized room in a central location. What more could you ask for??

The hotel is altogether wonderful. We arrived early around 1:00pm and our room was ready. The room was very clean, and spacious, plenty of room for the three of us even with the rollaway bed. There was no mold, or unsightly stains in the bathroom. No weird smells or stains anywhere. The staff was very helpful, the bar was convenient and pleasantly staffed. The breakfasts were excellent! Checkpoint Charlie is just a block away and there are so many things within walking distance. The train was very close by. We walked with our luggage and it only took about 5 minutes. The only single thing I would say could be better is to offer fee wi-fi. We had to take our devices down to the lobby for free wi-fi, but even the price for it in the room is cheaper than most places we have stayed in Europe where it wasn't free. I would stay here again in a second!

We have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it.
On arriving we received an unexpected upgrade to a superior room which was a nice treat.
An excellent breakfast is served and there is free wi fi in the reception area ( there is however a small charge if you want it in the room). If you don't have a computer with you there is one to use free of charge in reception for checking e mails and surfing.
The hotel is very close to two underground stations, and there is a nice Italian on the corner which does fab pizzas.
Due to having birthdays in the winter we often tend to take our city breaks around Jan time when find that there are fewer tourists around and the hotels often offer good deals ( like 3 nights for 2). It was pretty cold out though!!

This is our third year staying in this hotel the last week on January for a long standing conference. The staff is great! The rooms are large and are always ready after a long night flight and the restaurants surrounding the hotel are wonderful. The Stadt Mitte subway is a very short away and Frederich Strasse, a great shopping street is one block away.

The breakfasts is an absolutely great hot and cold buffet complete with a new big espresso/hot chocolate maker was installed since last year. It's great,
