My husband and I stayed at the Mandala Suites in October 2011, for about 3 nights. We decided to splurge a little and chose this place with spacious rooms, well, actually; apartment is a better word! Definitely worth the money.
I am not easily impressed, and my husband even less so (he is the really picky one :)). But when we first entered the suite, we were thrilled with the nicely decorated apartment! I will make sure to put up photos when I have them available.
The walk-in closet was ridiculously big,so of course we were in heaven. In addition to the walk-in closet, there were three more closets in the hallway outside the bathroom. The bathroom was mainly white, and in a very nice state (both regarding cleanliness and standard wise), with robes and a hairdryer, of course, and bathtub/shower.
The kitchen wasn't super fancy but still very nice, and with all kinds of commodities; stove, glasses, plates, tea, snacks, fridge, and even a microwave I think. Definitely made for a long stay! If one can afford it, that is.
The big bedroom/livingroom had a desk with some commodities, and there was also a sofa with tables and all. Bed was very comfortable, and the big windows had blinds that could be maneuvered up and down electrically - as it seems, made not only to shut out light but also to keep the room cool during the summer (or, as in our case, in early October which was still really hot). In addition to that, there was what seemed to be a brand new AC on the wall, looking very chic and being easy to handle.
Luckily, we had a room pretty high upp and facing the inner yard, so we slept peacefully. We also had a balcony, which was great for pre-drinks with family before going out.
Even though the suite had a carpet covering the whole floor (which can be icky), this did not bring the feeling down, The carpet was in a perfect state. The suite felt very clean and nice, and it was a pleasure staying there. Check the photos other people put up, that's what our bathroom looked like and we had, if not the biggest suite (as seen in one pic, I think), a pretty big one with the whole livingroom part and all (see picture called "Sofa" by reviewer Lapsaptong).
The one picture I have available is from the breakfast room, which was sooo nice - both room and breakfast! However, not included in the room and quite expensive, so we only ate there once. There were several cafés around for nice breakfasts and brunches.
The service was discrete and very polite and pleasant. The lobby is in the same building as the suites, but witha different entrance, so to speak. Very few people, about two people who greet you when you arrive, and see you to your room. We only saw two other guests during our whole stay, so it was a different feeling although nice.
The staff also had maps to give away, umbrellas to lend you, and were able to give us information on practical tourist things, such as boats to take, tourist buses, etc. Very helpful.
Other than that: Free wifi in the rooms, and a computer room next to the lobby in case you didn't bring a computer.
We really enjoyed our stay there and would be happy to come back, if able to.
Have a nice stay!
