Hotel was good value and room was very good for the price paid, but staying in Berlin in the summer really requires an air conditioned room.

Sleep quality poor due to the oppressive heat.

Staff pleasant and professional, and location was good.

Pros :
-Free wireless internet

Cons :
-Not clean (mold, small bugs)
-Very old
-No fridge / minibar
-Toilet takes 1 hour to fill (and it makes noise...)
-No electric plugs (we had to unplug the TV)
-Staff does not care

I stayed here for 4 nights. The location is perfect just 200 metres from the U-bahn station and 5 minutes walk from the shopping area and the Zoo. There are lots of restaurants around the area so it is not a problem that there is no restaurant in the hotel. The rooms don't have coffee-making facilities so you have to go downstairs and pay for one from a machine in reception.

Once again, the Ambassador delivered - this time with a room upgrade as well as a fabulous breakfast and a superb-value price. This place has now become my Berlin-favorite hotel. It still has a "Westalgie" feel to it due to its location near the iconic KaDeWe department store on the KuDamm, but the renovated rooms are delightful if less timewarpish.
