I chose this hotel based on good TripAdvisor reviews. I stayed here for 2 nights while in Berlin on business. Probably wouldn't have been my first choice, but many hotels more popular with business travelers were booked. This hotel definitely has character, from the odd assortment of old mannequins (really) in the entryway, to the antique-like furniture in the reception area. Downsides, as someone who was traveling for work: they could not provide an iron/ironing board, and their printing options were extremely limited. It was very reasonably priced, though, and wake up calls were reliable. Rooms were small but clean and quiet. Breakfast buffet (for an extra fee) was nice spread of bread, cheese, meats. Location-wise, walking to the Brandenburg gate and other attractions was relatively easy from here, but the street/block itself that the hotel is on is utterly charmless (hint: two defunct casinos). I probably wouldn't go back, but it's not a bad pick for leisure travelers on a budget.
