Don't be put off by the Hollywood theme, this is a nice hotel on the Ku'damm, well located for shopping and sightseeing. It's about 45 minutes by car from Schonefeld airport. Our group stayed for 3 nights and we were all very pleased with the quality of the accommodation and level of service. We had standard rooms, which were reasonably sized, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide selection of hot and cold food, all delicious. You can buy a 1-day pass for the public transport services at the reception, which is very convenient. A few small gripes: the hotel is large with very long corridors so some rooms are located quite far from the lift, not so good for elderly guests. There were only three English TV stations available, all news channels, not great for winding down at the end of a busy day. Heating was a little hard to control, we had to open the windows to cool down our room, which seemed a bit wasteful of energy. Overall, however, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel.

Spent 2 nights there, we had a great time, really nice, could not fault it. Very happy and would book again. Breakfast was great..everything about the place was nice and well looked after. And so near to everything:) Bus tours, shopping, eating:)

Just came back from a three-night's stay at Hollywood Media Hotel.
It's a nice place, very clean and simple (in a good way). Great location for shopping and sightseeing. We had a standard room and it was good enough. Not much furniture in the room, pillows stuffed with something strange (ok to sleep on though), noisy when you open the window that faces a busy street - that's about all the disadvantages i noticed.
On the plus side:
- GREAT location. Bus no.109 takes you from the Tegel airport almost to the doors of the hotel. It's a 5-minute walk from a subway station (Uhlandstrasse), the Zoo and the subway/bus/train station are a 20-minute walk away or you can take a bus. The buses no.100 and 200 which stop there are great for a small sightseeing tour of the city, you get to see the Parliament, Brandenburger Tor, the famous Unter den Linden shopping street, the Berliner Dom within a 40-minute drive
- not too noisy
- good breakfast. Don't let the other reviews scare you - the "strange" things the restaurant offers for breakfast are just chicken nuggets or small pizzas, just choose something else as there is plenty to choose from
- very clean
- unconventional design that's not too over-the-top. There was only a picture of some director in our room (didn't look very convincing), lots of posters and pictures around the hotel create a nice mood
- the Italian restaurant is charming and serves great food
Almost forgot a major minus - there's no free Internet in the rooms, you have to pay 2 euros an hour for a connection or use the computer that's in the lobby (rarely free).
Overall a nice hotel that's conveniently located.
Berlin is a wonderful city and we'd love to come back.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights from september 24 to 27 and loved it. All the movie posters brought back memories of magic moments in dark theatres. Exhibitions of scenes from more or less great films is an adventure for both old and young. We booked a comfort room and were very happy with it in every way. As for the rest of the hotel the room was very clean and tidy, nothing lacking, good size, nice furniture, large windows overlooking the Kudamm, and still very quiet. The bathroom not big but sufficient, with everything working. Service is impeccable and the hotel seems to be well managed. Everything about the breakfast is the way you want it to be, with sufficient variety and plenty of good food, even at closing time at 10:30 am. Including sparkling wine! The entrance of the hotel is certainly not a flamboyant one, but who needs that? Last but not least the location could not be better - the area between the Kudamm and the Savigny Platz has all the good restaurants and is right at hand.
