The first time in Berlin. We took the X09 bus from Tegel airport (you can buy any ticket you want from the bus but you'll have to have smaller bills or the exact amount of money, or else you have to que inside the A -terminal -with 100 people or more). At the end station (zoo) we changed to U2 subway/tram and get off at märkisches museum.
The hotel: nice place with good staff and free minibar. We took the cheaper option of the room so we saved about 50€ per night but we didn't get breakfast. Actually we found several places suitable for breakfast the best was -of course- to be found on the last day. The place is at rungestrasse and bruckestrasse corner (actually google maps seems to show that there's a travel agency, but it really is there). It's a small bakery type of cafeteria with good-sized portions and fresh orange juice.
I hope that those who buy their room on full price get better floors since our carpet was more like hard-wood floor, tramped down etc.
Even when the room is not that glamorous you have to remember that its just the place to sleep, thats our principal number one. The location, 50 metres from metro station and maybe a kilometer from Alexandersplatz, is optimal for us. After walking round the city and checking all the glamorous sights you have only seen pictures of, its nice to come back to the hotel and have same complimentary beer :)

Really loved this hotel, it was clean, tidy and well presented. Rooms were large with good cooking facilities. Very close to subway and within walking distance of city sights. Would highly recommend.

I stayed for 5 nights, with my wife, on holiday. Ideally situated, the Uban is literally across the street, and only 6 min away fm AlexanderPlatz. Clean room, very quite, (we had a 2nd floor, river side view, room)
Quite roomy, good mattress, the pillow is a bit of a problem with ALL german hotels (i suppose the Germans like it this way, chancy but soft!) and the 2 separate quilts on the double bed again is a standard all across Germany (and Austria) - and I still wonder why!

the only down side is the wifi, which is 1 hr/day free (which should otherwise be enough for me) but has to be in one "go" ie one cannot chk email frequently during the day for free...
I mention this also to emphasis that there are no serious -ve comments.

I originally wrote a review from the room but it didn't go through so now I have to work off of a week old memory. I have no complaints. Its a nice hotel. The company seems to own the hotel Derag and Henriette so make sure you're at the right one. Take the UBahn to Markisches Museum and when you exit the station the door to the hotel is barely across the street. There are two restaurants and a market on the same street of the very quite area. The station is one or two away from the Hauptbanhof. The room was overlooking a small part of a river. There was a decent sized television, two complimentary Becks, two complimentary bottles of water, coffee and tea. The bathroom was quite large and nice and there was ample closet space. I actually recall thinking that they sacrificed sleeping/living space for a large bathroom and closet. All in all, I have no complaints. My travel buddy who had never been to Europe before also thought it was a good choice.
